Add cyborg upgrades that give them multitools (like jaws of life)

Would be a nice QOL thing. Also maybe could add alien tools upgrade module too

When will the janiborg get his god-given right to produce an aura of slipperyness like the avatar of god he is?

One problem I can see with this is the point of multi use tools is to reduce clutter and make it easier to switch between tools. Giving engineering cyborgs more tools would just further expand their massive inventory of items

alien tools could replace normal tools, and multitools are only two things for a engiborg and 2 or 3 for a medical borg

Arent engieborg tools better than regular tools by default?

The design around them was that engieborgs would be better right off the bat but humans could get better tools with rare tech.

I think the current engieborg tools are slightly faster than the jaws of life tier tools anyway.

Engieborg tools are better than normal tools, but worse than power and alien tools. Mediborg surgical tools are 1:1 with standard surgery tools.

I'm indifferent mainly, the only thing that I'd like is the two tools in one that power tools have going for them as an upgrade but it's not 'too' useful - just cuts down on clicking.

Engieborg doesn't really have any specialized upgrades, besides the RPED, because it's pretty damn good at its job already. Only thing I can think to add is a circuitboard manipulator but that's can of worms territory.

Actually not entirely true. Engiborg tools are on par with Brass tools (cuckcult) at .5 speed, Power tools (JoL, Drill) have .7 toolspeed. The exception here is welder, Exp Welder is .5 and self regenerates fuel, the borg welder is .5 but still needs a fuel source despite there having once been an electric welder that just pulled from the borg's battery. All alien tools are .1

The big oof with Med/Eng borgs is their inventory clutter. Engi borg has something like 20 items at their disposal that auto sort so they can't even organize the useful ones where they might want them. Certain items like the T-Ray could reasonably made into a secondary toggle function like ion jets, HUDs or lights, and other items like material sheets could be condensed into a single sheet selector item similiar to the crafting menu and enable them to swap between material types. Compressing borg tools into multi-functional tools would be nice from a QoL standpoint given how out dated the inventory is and having 3 lines of inventory space obscuring the game window isn't something most people consider a good thing.

I don't see any of this changing soon since a very vocal portion of the community utterly hates borgs and refuses any changes to them that aren't nerfs to make them even more irrelevant.

Medborg tools are baseline but have 100% success chance no matter where the surgery is performed. So you can, for example, do a liver transplant on the bar-room floor with no risk of failure.

That would imply the medborg can pick up the liver and shove it in.

the patient can do that unless he's unconscious, hand and insertion actions are fine for self surgery IIRC

Borgs should absolutely only be able to self repair with upgrades

It would be nice to reduce inventory bloat, since like others have said, engiborgs and mediborgs have it the worst. The mediborg hypospray change (where the two chemical hypo upgrades were consolidated into one) was very nice, so it's not unprecedented.

Mediborgs have an organ bag for that now, you can do augmentation, limb replacement, implant installation and organ transplants now.

honestly imagine not carrying a 1 sec timer flashbang on you at all times it will completely ruin a borg with none of the risk of going into melee range and getting stunprodded or morphine hypo'd or shock hugged or whatever
