LISA: The Painful RPG is an RPG sequel thing to LISA: The First, which was a psychological thriller game. In it you play the brother of the protagonist from the first game. Set in a world where there are no women, and every man is at middle age or above, everyone is fucked until you find a baby girl in the desert. She gets kidnapped and your shit world gets even shittier as you're forced to make some pretty tough decisions. It looks playful on the surface which is what the creator wanted, as he is a huge Earthbound fan, but underneath that it's dark, gritty, and disturbing. By the end I felt like a monster.

It's a fully fleshed out RPGmaker game that's really impressed me. It's $10 on Steam if you want to buy it and it will last you around 7-12 hours if you only go for 1 ending. Real fun RPG surprisingly and the music is outstanding.

I've been watching ManlyBadassHero's LP of this on youtube, it looks hype as fuck. I'd totally get it if I hadn't blown so much dosh on other stupid vidya.

Also pay attention to the flashbacks and compare people in them to certain people. It will crush your soul, especially when you find out who the final boss is.

The problem is he's Terry and does 1 damage.

I think this game just goes to show that with enough passion and love you can make a truely good RPGmaker game, even with very few scripts. I decompiled it and man this guy used some neat tricks.

Of course I would know nothing of RPGmaker things right?

Dickassery aside I'd like to make a short SS13 RPGMaker game but I'm already working on a project. Even if I did it wouldn't be about /tg/station because I don't play here.


Anyway, the gimmick in my current project is that the music becomes more intense depending on how the battle is going. Maybe off topic but here have a listen:

Also Lisa has good music but that's because he took a bunch of canned music you can buy with a license and used it/mashed it together. He didnt make any of this it came out of a compilation set of pay-to-use stuff.
