Better FTLstation

How feasible would it be for TGstation's server hardware to handle multiple White Ship style vessels? I'm curious about the possibility of game modes featuring ship to ship combat, and entire stations divided between mobile platforms.

Its something that is doable with a lot of work. See FTL13 and Startrek13 along with Baystation. Each have done a setup of somewhere along these lines at varying points. Bay created the overmap system. Startrek13 uses its own version of that but needs a lot of work in that area still. FTL13 is of one ship that can dock to stations for objectives or trading.

A simple solution is just loading a bunch of station z's and different shuttles via the shuttle template system. But you wont really get combat in that as is. You can with some work though.

I think this would incentivise teamwork if you were brought to an old and rusty space viechle and made your fame by upgrading the ship and following objectives. People would have more of a reason to work togheter.
