The maps played and the literal maps.

I assume they'll be redesigned at some point not just because some of them have... worse gameplay value than the explosives testing range. But an easier to rectify concern is that the maps available are incomplete and too big to read in game.

  • Almayer is feature complete with all the objects
  • LV-624 lacks the caves and roundstart xeno tunnels
  • Ice Colony I believe has all of the caves
  • Whiskey Outpost I have never seen voted into play, is it even on the roster?
  • Big Red lacks the caves, particularly for the Tcomms weakness
  • Prison Station has everything
It would be nicer, if we do get new maps, to not have the Weyland logo for Disney reasons and to have simplified ones that come in sizes 1400x800 pixels. I don't see why information should be restricted as long term players will learn them and new players who land xeno queen won't know where to lay eggs if their part of the map doesn't exist. I would also recommend xeno tunnels to be labelled because of long term players, hive lords and "Oh fuck I don't know this map, where are the tunnels to the furhosts?!" for new players who would probably want to make a contribution before being killed by a shotgun stun.

Isn't Whiskey Outpost that tower defense map, where Marines just hold the ground against "infinitely" spawning xeno?

If we were to have a "standard" map, it shouldn't be LZ.

Remove Ice Colony, that's map flat out trash thanks to snow-induced slowdown and easily camped ladders and elevators.

Edit: Last I've heard, Whiskey Outpost is broken, but I played it before. Basically Marines have to hold out for 10 waves/an hour against an ever evolving wave of xenos. It's a challenge map mainly, but more fun than the usual mode.
