"Forgotten, devoured, gutted. Humanity has forgotten the eldritch forces of decay, but the mansus veil has weakend. We will make them taste fear again..."

This guide doesn't cover all the powers, just the basics that you need to know to start off. Big part of the antagonist is experimenting and exploring the skill tree by yourself.

Basics

You start off with 2 items : Codex Cicatrix and Living Heart.

Codex Cicatrix

All in one item. Use this item to research skills, collect influences, draw runes, remove runes.

  1. research skills, use the book in hand. Here you go, now you can research any skills you need.
  2. collect influences click them with the book IN THE MIDDLE BLACK PART
  3. draw a rune click an adjacent turf with your book, The rune is 3x3 so remember to have enough space!
  4. remove runes click a rune with the book. Simple as.

Living Heart

Living Heart. Probably most useful thing you have. Allows you to get charges from sacrifices.

How does living heart work? Simple

1. Put the heart on a rune drawn by Codex Cicatrix 2. Activate the rune

Now you got a target. Go and kill them.

Bring their dead body onto the rune drawn by Codex Cicatrix, place the living heart along side them. Activate the rune. Now your Codex Cicatrix gained a charge. Codex Cicatrix MUST BE on you for it to work.

Mansus Grasp

Mansus grasp is a modular ability you start off roundstart as heretic. Mansus Grasp (without any upgrades) causes a 5 second knockdown, some stamina damage and 10 burn damage. There are knowledges in the skill tree that let you upgrade your Mansus Grasp.

Paths

Path Name Description
Path of Ash Nightwatcher's secret Easiest path. Ash is about mobility, crowd control and being a sneaky fucker that can jaunt while handcuffed. Ash abilities are all about that. If you are starting out i strongly recommend taking this path, as it is by far the easiest to be on. It doesnt have the most powerful abilities, but it is still enjoyable.
Path of Rust Blacksmith's Tale Rust is about healing, corruption and brute forcing through all obstacles. Stealth isn't one of your strengths. Rust gives you abilites that can one shot silicons, fry any electronics, destroy any turfs and take down any non-living being. Abilities on this path allow you to heal while on rusted tiles, and you get access to some pretty powerful spells. Second Easiest Path.
Path of Flesh Principle of Hunger Hardest Path by far, but the most enjoyable. You get to become &*@#^&@^#&@^# during your ascension. Flesh is about resurrection and summonings. You don't get ANY offensive spells, NO defensive spells. Just summonings and necromancy. Slow to start snowballing but VERY powerful late game. Watch out for stolen bodies.

Explore, Experiment and you will find the way
