Technologies

Specialized Engineering

"Conventional wisdom has deemed these engineering products 'technically' safe, but far too dangerous to traditionally condone."

Tinker's Gloves
Tinker's Gloves
Found in: Engineering Techfab after research
Used for: Improving construction speed by 30% on girders [TBD: only on girders?]
Strategy: Rapidly rebuilding engineering after a supermatter delamination, or showing off in an epic build-off.
Description
These overdesigned engineering gloves have automated construction subrutines dialed in, allowing for faster construction while worn.

CAUTION: NOT INSULATED.

Lava-Resistant Metal Rods
Lava-Resistant Metal Rods
Found in: Any Techfab after research
Used for: Constructing on lava
Description
Treated, specialized metal rods. When exposed to the vaccum of space their coating breaks off, but they can hold up against the extreme heat of active lava.

Australicus Security Protocols

"It is said that security in the Australicus sector is tight, so we took some pointers from their equipment. Thankfully, our sector lacks any sign of these, 'dropbears'."

Outback Firing Pin
Outback Firing Pin
Found in: Security Techfab after research
Used for: Preventing weapon discharges while on the station.
Strategy: Give these to cargo to let them use weapons in lavaland without risking the station.
Description
A firing pin used by the austrailian defence force, retrofit to prevent weapon discharge on the station.

OZtek Boomerang
OZtek Boomerang
Found in: Security Techfab after research
Used for: When provided with a power cell and turned on, stuns anybody it hits and returns to the thrower.
Strategy: Use for a particularily interesting way to gear your security officers.
Description
A device invented in 2486 for the great Space Emu War by the confederacy of Australicus, these high-tech boomerangs also work exeptionally well at stunning crewmembers.

Just be careful to catch it when thrown!

Illumination Applications

"Applications of lighting and vision technology not originally thought to be commercially viable."

Workplace-Ready Firefighter Helmet
Workplace-Ready Firefighter Helmet
Found in: Science, Engi, Sec, and Supply Techfabs
Used for: Adding a light and an acid- and fireproofing layer to firefighter helmets
Strategy: A Brilliant way to be robust!
Description
By applying state of the art lighting technology to a fire helmet, and using photo-chemical hardening methods, this hardhat will protect you from robust workplace hazards.

Mini Rapid Light Device
Mini Rapid Light Device
Found in: Cargo & Engineering Techfab's once researched
Used for: Rapid light construction.
Description
A device used to rapidly provide lighting sources to an area. Reload with metal, plasteel, glass or compressed matter cartridges.

The Mini Rapid Light Device (MRLD) has three functions:

  1. Light Launcher: Shoots a lit glowstick that lies on the floor and can be picked up or dragged.
  2. Deconstruct: Deconstructs any light within eyesight even through windows.
  3. Permanent Light Construction: Constructs lights anywhere within eyesight, even through windows. When used on a wall it will create a wall light fixture, when used on the floor it will create a floor light.

Advanced Grapple Technology

"Nanotrasen would like to remind its researching staff that it is never acceptable to "glomp" your coworkers, and further "scientific trials" on the subject will no longer be accepted in its academic journals."

Gives access to the Dolphin and Rocket Tackle Gloves, for advanced soaring and trauma.

Advanced Office Applications

"Some of our smartest lab guys got together on a Friday and improved our office efficiency by 350%. Here's how."

Mauna Mug
Mauna Mug

Description
An NT brand "Rolly Poly" rolling table. It can and will move.

Enhanced Interrogation Technology

"By cross-referencing several declassified documents from past dictatorial regimes, we were able to develop an incredibly effective interrogation device. Ethical concerns about loss of free will do not apply to criminals, according to galactic law."

Enhanced Interrogation Chamber (Machine design)
Enhanced Interrogation Chamber (Machine design)
Found in: Security techfab once researched.
Used for: Hypnotising Crew Members
Description
The Enhanced Interrogation Chamber is designed to induce a deep-rooted trance trigger into the subject. Once the procedure is complete, by using the implanted trigger phrase, the authorities are able to ensure immediate and complete obedience and truthfulness.

Advanced Sticky Technology

"Taking a good joke too far? Nonsense!"

Super Sticky Tape
