There's got to be a better way to organize the music here. Perhaps multiple pages for each category/genre? Just so it's easier to navigate and find what you like, maybe? -Farquaar

At the time of writing this, the formatting varies randomly. If you'd like to set a standard, post it here. I myself wouldn't mind going through and reformatting the page. Simultaneously, I'd like to continue the effort of standardizing sub-pages much like our Touhou, Anime, and Video Game categories. Also, I recommend using ~~~~ to create fancy signatures. For standardization of the title and sorting order I would like to recommend the following:

• Name of its composer (alphabetically by last name)
• Name of media it appears in (alphabetically ignoring articles (such as the, or, a...))(where applicable)
• Name of the song directly translated to English (this would be the bare minimum)
• Offical Title of the song in its native language [latinized] (where applicable), add the most used common name of the song in parentheses.
• Notes about this specific arrangement, written within parentheses, (how complex is it, what instrument does it sound best on...)

The song title at the head of each song would ideally have each (unless its title was originally in English, making the 4th header redundant, and if it is the only arrangement of the song the 5th would not be needed to differentiate it). Each bullet on the list would be separated by a vertical bar.

here is an example to show what I have in mind:

Michael Giacchino | The Incredibles | Kronos Unveiled

Michael Giacchino | Star Wars | When Has Become Now

Monty Norman | James Bond | James Bond Theme (007 Theme)

John Williams | Superman | Superman Main Theme

John Williams | Star Wars | Cantina Band 1 (Mad About Me)

John Williams | Star Wars | Cantina Band 1 (Mad About Me) | (this version sounds better on brass instruments)

John Williams | Star Wars | Cantina Band 2

If you would notice that even though Star Wars comes before The Incredibles alphabetically, The Incredibles comes first, this is because The is an article and as such is ommmited when sorting alphabetically (In formal English anyways)

The page split should be reverted, its better to have all the songs on one page. That way you can easily use ctrl+F to find the song you want instead of having to search for the right section. I don't really see the point in having different sections, it just makes it more inconvenient to find songs. --BlueMemesauce (talk) 05:14, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

Please don't add songs to the main page. I think we're better off keeping the sections separate. If we agree to add EVERYTHING to the main page it might get even harder to navigate than it is now. A good suggestion was adding tabs like the parts of engineering that display different parts of the SM in different stations. --Leif (talk) 5/2/23

Ok so there's a 2048 kilobite limit to a wiki page so the omni-page idea can't work out. I am going to aggressively sort songs into their proper pages. Folks tried to make the omnipage thing work but we'd have to get MSO on board with that wiki limit edit so breaking things up is quicker. --Leif (talk) 02:05, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

So given the KB restraint I have moved all the songs to the genre pages and added a new genre page, electronica. Please stop pasting your songs into the main page. Unless MSO changes how the wiki works we can't do the omni-page. Please add more techno songs to the electronica page. Leif (talk) 07:01, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
