Seems pretty logical, given that hunters are supposed to be specialised around melee combat, especially since sentinels already fulfill the role of a ranged combatant for the aliens.

Blowguns that can be made with wood. Can only use blowgun darts, also made with wood. The darts can be dipped in beakers or bottles to make them transfer reagents, if that's at all possible.
If possible, the darts should be ineffective against armor, too?

Ooh, that drone shell machine certainly sounds nice.
