Yes, make sure that the lings, despite being, you know, hivemind creatures, have incentive and ability to easily murder other lings.

Why not just make it double agents but lings and remove hivemind at this point?

sec jumpsuit is only from melee. Having this jumpsuit have a bit more protection, and make that protection for all types of damage, would be cool. Maybe 15 for everything. That way it'll actually make a difference, the cost can be balanced around that.
