Re: RP rules rewrite discussion
I'm cautiously optimistic. I think the new rules are an improvement definitely but my main concern is how much of an actual effect this will have with a culture that has such strong attitudes against any kind of killing seen as unjustified. You may not get yelled at by admins for plasma flooding any...

Re: Everyone on manual is so nice and accepting it gives me a fucking headache.
I don't really think the problem is that people are too nice but that a lot of the structure of Manuel incentivizes people to play in fairly boring ways and makes more complex forms of roleplay/ character interactions harder to achieve. Which isn't to say people are unwilling to play/ engage with mo...

yeah I'm not convinced we really need such a well defined naming policy especially since TG's vibe isn't really that serious to warrant it. Like as long as someone can come up with a semi-coherent explanation for why they have that name beyond "I thought it would be funny lmao", I don't re...

I’ve heard it being “worse” on Manuel but people lose sight of how hard it is to be the odd-one-out or the new guy who doesn’t get all the lingo and vibes from the start. I agree that more complexity doesn't really make a better game but I wonder if the issue is entirely a rise in complexity or more so that there's seemingly not a lot of effort put into making these systems compelling. Yeah, I agree thieves have really just become a threat dump. Even though I like the core concept of thief as a way to sort of enshrine greytiding as an actual role it really doesn't work. it seems like the biggest, non-code related, issue with cult on Manuel (and well just team modes in general on Manuel) is the cultural perspective on these modes. The moment everyone realizes it's cult most people just switch over to gamer mode which creates a cycle of "well it's TDM, no one is...
