Re: circuit craigslist: post your cool stuff you made
I don't know jack about IC and my only experience so far was a lot of annoying shit spamming the radio and being impossible to find (and its creator being impossible to ID if he was smart), so how about loading up these drones with nasty explody shit? I think you can do that? Pretty sure there's re...

it's also more elegant.
you can do which is useful if your code is designed to handle foo being null
you can do
Code: Select all

Are we allowed to use 512-exclusive features like the operator or do we still need to maintain backwards compatibility?

someone should invest time making things like medibots and health scanners into assemblies and then replace all the old versions with assemblies.

Circuit printers should be able to print at least basic power cells, and cells should be kept track of in circuit macros.
its annoying to have to open up an assembly and put in a battery every time you copy a macro, and it even seems to break/glitch some assemblies.

Admins usually dont act on drones until someone complains about them. Auxillary public cloners/Autocloners could be argued to be seen against the intent of a antagonist to kill people, so generally it makes drones valid as fuck to ahelp. I know drone rules are vauge as fuck but this sounds like BS,...

I am very much interested in this project, especially as I have recent experience with the organ and surgery systems. Please post the .DMI for all these sprites. Even if it's just view variables without edit, it lets you see all kinds of hidden information. isn't VV part of another set of permissions? i do see your point, but as long as you just make sure that the person who gets it has contributed at least a few PRs, there shouldn't be ...

Re: BYOND RNG
So your post appears to say that there IS in fact a problem with BYOND RNG, yet you also say it's fine. Why?
Re: BYOND RNG
~~it's based on system data, though I don't think anyone knows exactly what.~~ I think it is known to be rather time-dependent, so the biggest issue is with trying to generate a bunch of random values very quickly, although our code doesn't really do thatTribeOfBeavers wrote:What is BYONDs built in RNG based on?
BYOND RNG
So with https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/30087 on the way, I decided to start considering coding a new RNG system, to be hopefully more random than BYOND's inbuilt RNG. After all, we could use a variety of pseudorandom data for generating seeds, such as messages sent over radio, ahelps/ad...

it's ten times more irritating on the coder end, because of the fact that bullets and casings are seperate. the ammo types in the op are all casings, each of which contains an actual bullet, which are often named super undescriptively and used in even more snowflakey balance-related ways
