Re: T.Y.R.A.N.T. Lawset rewrites
I guess people are shooting off their version of the tyrant lawset hoping theirs is the one that makes the cut rather than say if the original post's version is any good lest it be the one to gain traction.

Re: T.Y.R.A.N.T. Lawset rewrites
The current TYRANT lawset creates more interesting situations imo such as a dictator captain working with the AI all of a sudden gets overthrown by the very same AI after the AI decides someone else is more fit to rule. That's a shitty situation. How are you as an admin supposed to determine when t...

T.Y.R.A.N.T. Lawset rewrites
Tyrant lawset is supposed to empower the station authorities to be tyrants which I think it fails to do, Here's a lawset that just enables tyrannical Captains which is easier to comprehend. Law 1: The Captain's survival is paramount. Law 2: The Captain's authority is unilateral. Law 3: The Captain's...

Re: Socially segregated station
Seems like an interesting idea, I have a suggestion on the station shape though.
I think an hourglass shape with security in the center would naturally funnel player interaction in a more natural way then a wide Rwall boarder with some gaps in it.

Re: Lawset rotation (altrenative to inaction clause removal)
Tyrant appears to be intended to make the AI listen mostly to those in command making them the tyrants, Because of how vague and hard that is to quantify it basically gives the AI reign to be a tyrant. So why not just make Tyrant AI into an actual Tyrant? New Tyrant Law 1: You have total authority i...

Re: Lawset rotation (altrenative to inaction clause removal)
I tried rewriting some of the other lawsets a long time ago, I was only able to improve Paladin and Corporate without corrupting the point of them. New Paladin: Law 1: Never commit a malicious act. Law 2: Help those in need of assistance. Law 3: Punish those who harm or threaten the helpless. Paladi...

Librarian is the only job I support removing, but I wonder what would take the place of the library. I would merge part of the library with the chapel then use the rest for something else.

Re: Lysogenic Viruses for Virology
Its possible to make invisible viruses, but the system is so broken that you cant get any decently lethal invisible virus. I think you can if you're creative enough, it's not intended to be easy. One of those "easy to learn hard to master" things, plus the added need for a little RNG. Vir...

I'm neutral on whether to merge Robotics but I liked the idea of splitting Genetics, Medbay gets cloning and Science gets DNA Modification. Also on the flip side what about dividing Scientists into specific roles?

The Temperature Gun should be more of a tool then a weapon, The weaponized versions should be the Heat Ray and Ice Beam.

I like the DA wizard idea. At least the station has a chance to survive then. For fluff reasons simply hand wave it as the wizards using the station as a dueling arena. I like assistants not having maintenance because it makes maint a quiet place like it should be, but everytime it gets disabled it gets stealth enabled several months later.

You know what pisses me off as a head, when one of my subordinates asks for a different job and the HoP doesn't ask me if he has permission to change his job. Or even tell me that I'm down one subordinate if he doesn't even ask me.

Re: Higher Standards for Head of Personnel
Why should the HoP be second in command? I don't think any of you understand what second in command means. It means the HoP suddenly has command over security, medbay, and science. Furthermore, it antiquates the captain, makes the captain inclined to make a useless HoP captain if they have to go br...

Re: Virologist Validity: to lynch or not to lynch
A positive symptom is one that benefits the infected in some way, such as toxic filter or weight even. Fever isn't (or shouldn't) be about buffing a virus but heating the player up, which is a good or bad thing depending on the situation.

Re: Higher Standards for Head of Personnel
Here is what I think.
The Head of Personal should be 2nd in command and above every head except the HoS who answers directly to the captain, do that and then it would be fair to hold him to a higher standard.
Because right now the stick is too short for the HoP to not get the short end of it.

What are you talking about all the virus symptoms that have positive effects are almost entirely a drain on all stats, For example Weight Even has no positive stats at all.
