Re: [Lazengann] Beardbeard - Ban Appeal
I can attest to beardbeard being an active and appreciated member of a non-SS13 community. While he is a loose cannon, he is a damn fine cop. I believe that he is a wonderful addition to any community, and what I remember from his notes suggests he would be a solid addition to the admin team if unba...

Re: Box Removal Discussion
What is the interesting gameplay boxstation offers? Less is sometimes more, but more often a bad map is just a bad map. Neither "unique" nor "designed" means good. The only thing that matters is if the map is good to play a round of ss13 on, and boxstation is not. Boxstation's ma...

Re: Code bounty: gamemodes!
Yes. It's not immediately obvious that it will be disabled. I've removed the rule from the bounty though, as it's somewhat subjective.DemonFiren wrote:Wait, are you saying assimiliation is already in rotation and despite the flak on the forums it has also been accepted by the community?

Re: Economy System Feedback Thread
Vendor item prices are completely arbitrary. A deck of cards ($25) costs as much as an RCD ($25), which is still cheaper than a pair of black shoes ($50). It's not completely arbitrary, it's the sweet spot between "i can't be arsed to price every item" and "fuck anyone who cares abou...

Re: Code bounty: gamemodes!
There are three bounties, of which one has been claimed, so two remain. They are paid out on a first-come, first-served basis provided that the requirements are met, and there is no way to reserve a bounty for future work. I waived the requirements for the mode to be accepted by the admins/players i...

Re: Valuable things we can take from CM and put in standard ss13
itt, post things you want to see added from cm Nothing, unless PR'd by the dev who originally wrote it. I am not against contributors borrowing design concepts from CM and applying them to produce original work that they PR to /tg/, but I will close every PR I'm aware of that attempts to transfer C...

Code bounty: gamemodes!
We haven't had any new gamemodes recently, let's see if this will spark anyone's interest in that direction: I'm willing to pay a bounty of 100 USD per gamemode, until 3 bounties have been claimed. 2 bounties have been claimed thus far. Two of the headmins have also preliminarily approved a wizard t...

Re: Cut all maps but the most popular one
Ideally I'd like to see us ape the model some other open-source projects have adopted where we have our one true map (meta?) and the rest are "contributed", where in our case it might mean that contrib maps are not guaranteed to have the latest and greatest features. As a player, I'd very ...

Re: Cut all maps but the most popular one
Also I'm personally of the opinion that "making a feature" and "enabling a feature by mapping it" should be two different steps except for the tiniest of map changes

Re: 'Please murder me slowly' pieces of code
Consider a scenario: a piece of code wants to send a chat message to all the drones that should be visible to dead people. /proc/_alert_drones(msg, dead_can_hear = 0, atom/source, mob/living/faction_checked_mob, exact_faction_match) for(var/W in GLOB.mob_list) var/mob/living/simple_animal/drone/M = ...
