Re: Petty crimes on Manuel: The Rise of the RP-Sec
Something I've not seen in many years and was surprised to realise I missed is sting operations. The best one I remember was when the sec team recruited an assistant to mooch for space drugs. I had enough spare energy so he gets his diversion, but seems he had a wire because next moment a full sec s...

Just getting my first chance to wander now, enjoying it so far! Got on okay in Hydro by myself for as long as that lasted. There's a missing wire in chem, under the glass table by the bin: https://www.jegub.net/tg13/kilowire.png The door into chem from the lobby is a bit of a liability, and medbay's...

Re: Your first ever SS13 round.
There were probably prior rounds where I wandered aimlessly and tried to open a toolbox by mashing it into my head, in the first memorable one I was a doctor. My PDA exploded and one of my colleagues patched me up and stayed with me until I got my hearing back. We headed to the bar, got some drinks ...

The first scenario that springs to mind is someone getting a full set of implants, currently they can chat with the surgeon, take care of business/call people chumbises over radio rather than watching a black screen for a few minutes. I thought a bit of the old water and potassium would make for a good illustration of the possibilities, you can make a methsplosion as well but it will presumably take out the dispenser on the first iteration so a succession of smaller explosions could make a bigger cumulative mess. 96 units of Hot ...

If tying the opportunity for a tangible or symbolic benefit to a chance outcome did not provide a dopamine hit then we wouldn't have casinos and the vast majority of board games and role-playing systems would either be substantially different or have never been developed. With one exception which re...

Re: Detoxify dispensers, manifest mutagen
The lifebringer ghost role is a fun addition to the game, but it seems to be giving a woefully false impression of what is expected of botanists on the station. I'd like to address the perception that botany requires huge amounts of reagents. The first order of business for a botanist after unlockin...

Detoxify dispensers, manifest mutagen
When chemistry dispensers were altered to be movable, my initial reaction was vaguely positive; if the lab was partially destroyed the equipment could now be relocated somewhere safe, I thought. In practice what it has meant is that one or both dispensers will get stolen, most frequently by botanist...

The wiki is in need of an update, as Doctor's Delight still heals you, it's the active ingredient in Syndi-Cakes. Its usefulness is diminished in that it greatly accelerates your digestion now, but there are times when being hungry but healthy is a worthwhile trade off.

I'm kicking myself for forgetting The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but if you get the chance try listening to the original radio series, the book adaptations lost something in their subsequent polishing and the groundbreaking audio effects add a lot to the atmosphere. The TV series was notable ...

These stray from the definition of relevant, but I would suggest they complement an enjoyment of the game. Others Will Follow is beautifully crafted and well worth nine minutes of your time if you haven't watched it yet. Planetes is reasonably firm as sci-fi goes and would seem to warrant inclusion....

In order to get something decent you'll need to start with a good MIDI file, I've had a brief look and only found one for the Baldur's Gate theme, which is an adaptation for guitar and recorder. It seems to me that it would be tricky to do justice to something that epic. The file was simple enough a...

You can use some toxin to make weed killer, pest killer and plant-b-gone. I also generally add some neurotoxin, as in the chemical; you can cut out the long heating time by adding 5 units each of chlorine and fluorine. I always get a sinking feeling when I see that a dispenser has been removed, regardless of which job I'm doing. I guess it counts as a peeve since I'm posting here. We need a plant producing anti-suffocation chemical. Space Tobacco contains salbutamol, isolate that and eat a bushel and you should be good for a while.
