I like most of that but the explosion bit seems a bit excessive, there tends to be all too much explosions on the escape shuttle alongside all the griff. The upgradable part could be some scifi jargon engine part that can be upgraded with R&D parts or it could even be c4'd.

It'd be nice to be able to build & upgrade furnaces or similar machine or to have version of Ore Redemption Machine that doesn't require ID access. Building autismal stuff at Derelict/White ship would be greatly helped if non-miners could go and mine the small clown asteroid and use the material...

I don't think there's any disagreement that borg has to try to at least communicate about the intentions. 99% borgs don't have time to do that since emagging is relatively fast and easy to do so it won't become a huge problem of "Emagging borgs is impossiburu", this was just a fringe case ...

It'd be neat if external airlocks and their vicinity had bars that people can use to move in/out without being constantly bumprobed by spacewind. You know, like actual space stations have bars on the walls so they can move about.

DAA could be adjusted a bit with slight changes. One way would be to have period between mutations where there wouldn't be any mutation going on. Additional virus icons Currently the icon for being infected is always the same regardless of the virus. Having gateway working with interesting locations would alleviate some of the issues, AI cannot do anything in gateway places and in space beach, nobody can hear you being strangled.
