My takeaway from regular SS13 is that laser weapons are used more by civilian and commercial sectors while military units and paramilitary groups use ballistics.

Some starting points and reference art for the "zerg-like race"

Sticky says that the new race is going to be "zerg inspired" so I decided to engage the autism and channel my many hours in Starcraft 2 into something potentially useful. Here are some assorted zerg units, and the types of xenos they roughly correspond to in aesthetic and/or function. Obvi...

For sure, I don't think Weyland really gives a shit about casualties in CM either. I was thinking more about "make sure X order isn't given" or "make sure x isn't built" or "make sure x dropship doesn't make it back to the ship" or "make sure the marines don't obta...

The relationship between the corporation, the USMC, and survivors

One time during the test, I was the Chief MP (some things never change). Early on, the corporate liaison went on his usual spiel about professionalism and doing things by the book. The CO and I both mocked him, called him a faggot, etc. 'Twas a good time. Later on, I accept a "stim implant"...

Personally I think datum antags are a case of re-inventing something that nobody asked to have re-invented that will result in a complete and utter clusterfuck of rounds, but visitors could work well with or without them. Without, it's just a dedicated "visitors + traitors" mode that spawn...

It would be very disappointing for something with as much potential as this to get relegated to yet another side antag position. Sufficiently fleshed out, this could easily be a new gamemode. God knows we could use some fresh new ones.

Mutiny seems to be a core part of the traditional CM game, and it's something that's been positively received in our tests so far. The White Ship already counts as an escape shuttle, so I would imagine that coding visitor ships to act the same way would be trivial. As for the ships themselves, I have a few more in-depth ideas. Roping something as expansive as a spin-off game into base /tg/ development dooms it from the start. They'd find a lot more success if they made their own project, recruited other people with a similar vision from other SS13 communities, and made their own game with blackjack and hookers.
