There is no first-contact rule and the exception is listed under the rules now.

DMCA Rules
The wiki has been updated with the new rules: https://tgstation13.org/wiki/DMCA_Rules We are looking for something different from both /tg/ and CM, though we draw heavy inspiration from both. The base is on /tg/ rules with some modifications, and a shift of focus from antag-paranoia to factions-conf...

Re: DMCA is no longer /tg/, Nervere has killed it
all we had to do: - replace the marines with sec officers and give them officer armor - replace any other sprites with stuff that makes sense - replace xenomorphs with abductors where they have a poncho and sombrero which determines their caste, rank, etc instead we got: - tl;dr of nervere's post p...

I really hope you don't mean me here. Re: DMCA is no longer /tg/, Nervere has killed it
/tg/'s administration works on an appointment basis. I wasn't told this. I was told all /tg/ admins had admin on DMCA, and when I logged in to DMCA a few weekends ago, I had my game admin rank in DMCA. If this is changed, it's news to me. I disagree with some of what you are saying, but what I basi...

Re: DMCA is no longer /tg/, Nervere has killed it
I believe sticky does have some merit. It's true that not many tg admins have taken an interest in DMCA. Honestly, it only being up on the weekends puts a damper on participating. I do agree that he has some merit. The project has unfortunately been sold in different packages to different people, s...

Re: DMCA is no longer /tg/, Nervere has killed it
To be fair a project lead has not been determined. Ninjanomnom is the head coder or whatever, and cares mostly about code quality. I'm the only maintainer and I'm basically dealing with game balance. If you can code, are interested and contributing to the server, and can be trusted by Ninjanomnom, t...

Re: DMCA is no longer /tg/, Nervere has killed it
Hello, Sticky! I'm very much not a fan of drama and would have really preferred to have had a chat about it, or something, but alright. There is some lack of knowledge on how things happened, and there are conflicting views on the future of the project. I'll try to recap things. Originally DMCA star...

Re: Temporary Mentor Applications Thread
Thanks to everyone who applied. All apps are being reviewed, expect to be contacted about them in discord. For new apps, Francinum is responsible for hiring Moderators (basically Trial Admins) and AIIA for Mentors. Contact them on discord if you want to volunteer (or wait until they make a thread of...

Can't comment on it because I didn't see it. I'll talk to the admins responsible for it. Thanks for your feedback.

Re: Remove zombie/meme modes
Don't those only happen after round end, or at moments when the game would be otherwise stuck on the lobby as a chat simulator, while we wait for the server to recompile or the likes?

Re: Remove zombie/meme modes
Zombie is a round-ending event. It's poorly coded and very flawed. Definitely a bad idea for now.
What other "meme modes" are you talking about?

If you want to be recommended, feel free to poke me on discord: Rohesie#4152 Tell me what your chars are/were in CM, and if you are a known decent player you'll get a little useless recommendation. Alternatively I can make you some game-mechanics questions that frequently come up and see how you fare.

Re: DMCA Lore: Possible First Draft
Marines are bringing those weapons because that's what they have available. This is a new kind of menace, and while they've fought against them before they are neither the only threat (other humans are still dangerous) and they haven't had all the time in the world to completely refit the fleet. It ...

This is terribly bad. Check the many Bay-based servers if you want good lore, for inspiration if nothing else. Also we can keep the xenos just fine. We just can't go full AvP lore like CM was doing. >terribly bad >Zero feedback, suggestions or ideas lel When I spoke in the channel I got threatened ...

Re: The "Dump Your Opinions About Requisitions" Thread
I loved playing RO and mained it for quite a while. You would turn every channel on and control the logistics, making a mental picture of what was going on in the area of operations and determining where to better apply the resources. If one squad was near another already supplied with what they wan...

I'm not sure queens can actually charge at all. We used to have NASCAR queens who'd charge into and away from battle, delaying rounds for hours because nobody could catch them. It was a sad state of affairs. On the rest of it, your understanding is correct. To sum it up, damage is much more importa...

Re: The Synth Rework Discussion
This is a very important topic. Code-wise let me list the major difference between synths and humans in no particular order. The former can still talk if they've been decapitated and the head can be reattached to the body for defibrillation; they don't have a death timer; they don't get husked no ma...

Re: Gameplay Tweaks (Hopefully with minimal coding required)
I would rather improve CAS, so it's less mindless (unless they've done it already, which is possible). Right now it's basically pushing a button when the time is right. You can use a Laser Detector System to see the laser targets and decide when to press the button, or you can rely on being told wh...

Re: Skills, and their removal
Okay, so there's realism, there's fun and there's balance to consider. To me the priority is from last to first. I'm removing every hard skill lock minus the pilot flight optimization because it's not really essential and gives the PO another tool that makes them invaluable. In where the skills were...

Re: Gameplay Tweaks (Hopefully with minimal coding required)
-Replace the pilot role with a bot that pushes all the buttons on the dropships, and sends automated messages on its status over comms. This eliminates a repetitive job and allows people to plan around reliable dropship schedules. Add a manual override to handle edge scenarios. Some people actually...
