Re: Borging and Memory
Given the amount of grief -- both literal and figurative -- they cause, it might make sense to quietly have a rev policy (i.e. admins hands-off) for rounds where staffs of change are spammed to the extent they tend to be. It doesn't happen that often anymore. Policy's pretty simple as I understand ...

Re: Administrative Section "Must be Involved" - How involved
This is a good opportunity to remind you that the forum is a service for the game, and not the other way around. FNR exists solely so we can handle administrative issues. If the rest of the forum dies because there's no stenography, I absolutely do not care. Do you not give a shit about the communi...

Re: [Aurx] Kodeth101 - Overzealous adminning
There were people in conflict with security. You came out of nowhere to mention lasers and security. No prior thread of conversation I could see that would lead to it. And "Not IC" said in OOC is a big red flag. It looked like textbook IC in OOC.

Re: Admin Feedback Poll
It's a matter of what's the lesser of two evils, abuse of anonymity, or abuse of administrative power. But one of those things already has a pretty damn effective system in place to prevent it. And if you want to be anonymous and have relevant info, PM an uninvolved 'min and request they post your ...

Re: "It's silicon policy time!" "No CentCom no!"
So an admin saying that "a Sec-borg seeing a sec officer beat a nukeop and simply taking the action of stating "Please do not harm that human" is violating law 1" is incorrect as the borg is not inactive but in a state of ineffectual activity, and as the robot isn't the one caus...

Re: "It's silicon policy time!" "No CentCom no!"
Policy doesn't cover what a silicon should do if it does wind up breaking one of its laws. As an example: Confirmed ling sprinting around the halls. Sec hot in pursuit. AI shocks a main hallway door right in front of the ling. ZAP, ling goes down. ZAP, officer right on the ling's tail hits the same ...

Re: "It's silicon policy time!" "No CentCom no!"
MrStonedOne brought up that some AIs will try to use nonhumanity as a reason to deny doorknobbing or simple law 2 orders (";AI, please build this at the R&D lab") just to be belligerent to nonhumans. Any recommendations for if/how to deem that a rule 1 violation? I don't want to see, ...

1): I'm 100% with you on hulks.
2): I see absolutely no good reason to make an AI be schizophrenic about uploads. I'd say anywhere with an upload board stored in it or a constructed upload console should be able to be treated exactly the same as the upload itself.

Re: Administrative Section "Must be Involved" - How involved
This stuff shouldn't be done behind closed doors At the very fucking least, if you're changing the interpretation a section of text, make it damn clear you've changed the interpretation. At the very fucking least, let the people who are supposed to act on a what's posted on a forum voice opinions b...

For threads such as http://www.coderbus.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=216, I believe it would be best if each post moved there was tagged with the thread it was moved from in addition to the ban reason, so as to provide proper context.

Re: Silicon Shitstorm 2014
I disagree with 2.1.5. Same. The policy also COMPLETELY ignores the possibility of non-human PCs. Example: If some tator orders the borgs to kill all golems, banning the golems for defending themselves would be utterly retarded. Also: This dehumanizes hulks. Is that fully agreed upon by the head ad...

Re: Put one of the servers on the pub hub for a day
One of the iterations of /vg/station was publicly listed for a short time. It was the absolute WORST experience of my entire SS13 history. It took weeks to weed out all the shit players that joined. Some pubbies are perfectly decent people, but the majority are utterly HORRIBLE. I am completely oppo...

I've memorized most of the auto-complete shortcuts for admin commands and in-game verbs, so it's more efficient for me to use normal mode. It's like having every button in every tab available within half a dozen keystrokes.

I guess so. Perhaps make it work like NarNars and pick a random person to follow if there are no beacons. Thereby crew trying to work out who it is and making them stick on a suit and dance around the singulo like a monkey to prevent the shuttle from being nommed? Do you have any idea what a pain i...
