Re: Robotocists making unslaved borgs fnr
I think making the turrets target unslaved borgs, and, if possible, remove AI upload/satellite access from unslaved borgs would be good changes. I dunno how integrated the code for borg control of doors is but I imagine you could put a condition on it.

Re: [KorPhaeron] Gives Nonantag Permission to Murder Securit
Sounds like you got to have a life and death struggle with a robust, well armed, assistant. That's more fun than most Sec death's I've had where the clown slips me on his pda and eswords me to death.

Re: Robotocists making unslaved borgs fnr
Oh, maybe remove AI satellite access from unslaved borgs. I don't know if this would stop a borg from using the AI's flash but that should be coded too. One of the ways I was able to overcome Atlanta-Ned is that I could trigger his flash myself. He flashed me once but there's a like a 8 second coold...

Re: Robotocists making unslaved borgs fnr
1. Not a bad idea at all 2. Bad Idea, what if you get borged and they unslave you, now you can't do shit. Doing this to syndie borgs is a good idea. Make them emag. 3. Nah 4. Probably a good idea. An unslaved borg has no honest reason to be in the AI Core. They aren't slaved to that AI, they don't c...

Re: Robotocists making unslaved borgs fnr
I think precedent that unsyncing borgs for absolutely no reason is on the same level as ripping up atmos valves at round start would be good. One code idea though, maybe allow the AI to be aware of unsynced borgs like their slaved borgs. Give them the message that happens when they come online too. ...

Re: Robotocists making unslaved borgs fnr
I played two rounds as malf ai last night: First round, I got cucked by an unslaved borg that was created well in advance of my going loud. Second round, same story. Borg pops online and immediately starts screaming that I'm rouge. To my knowledge, none of the responsible parties were punished. Thi...

I think a permaban might have been too much, maybe a warning was a better option, but he was also being a real dick to that brand new roboticist. The roboticist said he had never played the role before, and sounded like a pretty new player too. Was asking for help to walk through surgery. Yeh, he sc...

I think the reason for the ban was less you powergaming and more about how salty you got after that brand new robo couldn't finish your surgery. You got so mad you ranted for like 20 min solid in dead chant, then another 10 in OOC when the round ended. Then when people called you out for ruining a m...

Here's the problem though. Even with the chain of command for executions and space law removed, go and start executing people who are confirmed traitors instead of permaing them. I bet you'll get a sec ban.

There wasn't anything power mad about it. It was amusing, half the crew were getting drunk and screwing around with Donald Trump memes while the rev heads converted the other half. I remember that part now, that wasn't the round I got blown up as AI. I got subverted eventually, so it was possible to...

Re: Policy on Spacelaw
It's happened a number of times over the time I've played. It's usually a case of the player whining, the Admin asking what's going on, and that's the end of it. I've almost never run into an issue of an admin actually giving grief over it but it still gets annoying sometimes when they ahelp it. The...

Re: Policy on Spacelaw
The problem with removing space law is that space law contained a list of what is and isn't a capital crime, there is no such list in sec policy which means we're back to being beholden to the whims of the individual admin - and some of them have some major sand in their crotch against the red. Tha...

Asimov and Holoparasite Policy - How Meta?
I got a question on how Meta your knowledge as a silicon is when Holoparasites are involved. Obviously a Holoparasite is harmful and non human, and about the only way to deal with it is to kill it. But killing it kills the owner. The question is: Do Silicons know that killing a holoparasite kills it...

Re: Policy on Spacelaw
My 2 cents. I don't think it was a bad idea to remove space law, it's just going to require time for admins to sort out what goes over the line for rules like rule 1. Sec law was both too rigid and poorly thought out. And in this server full of metagaming autists I've had lots of greyshits already h...

If you metagame so hard that you're using emotes to fake antagonists' implant reactions then you're a really special snowflake. Please note that actual centcom officials seldom get protection from security outside of RP. And with the focus of many events being "fake" officials, the crew is under no obligation to believe announcements, since they have been used widely to deceive the crew. That's dangerous precedent...

The only real responsibility the captain has is to secure the disk. Plus making sure that there's an HOP and that he's taking care of personnel needs. HOP and Cargo can handle nearly every need every department will have. The Captain should find something entertaining to do, preferably in a well lit...

I think your main job is to not be useless. Coordinate the heads of staff, or at least remind them to not suck. Most of the time the heads can be left well enough alone. The other big job is trying to do something interesting. As goofball said, the gimmicks. Find crewmen doing a good/amusing job and...

The issue with nerfing the AI is that it would be hard to do without making AI boring to play. If the AI can't bolt, or shock if malf/non human troublemaker, doors, play with machines, etc, then the AI really is just a glorified doornknob and no one would play it. There would be no point in malf or ...

The other thing is you need a "challenge" as a antag. If there was no AI and no security murderbone becomes silly easy, pretty much anything becomes silly easy. This partically effects lowpop rounds where people might choose to be an AI/be made an AI, but dont want the pain in the neck of...
