The reason we bar balance changes and removals are for maintainer sanity. We need breaks from the year round bikeshedding, and time to focus on fixes.

I agree refactors are important, it was why we were allowing them with prior approval.

oldling was bad for another plethora of reasons (boring, long rounds of being parastung and sucked until no one but lings was left) but it at least had its own identity. lings weren't terribly strong in combat but they had sneaky abilities to confuse people and make them scary one on one especially...

I hate this argument "make it like the movie" because the whole premise of "The Thing" was finding its hardcounter and hardtell that obviously can't exist in a round-based open-source game without heavy RP restrictions or large balances in their favor which will just be a reskin...

Lings need to be directed to kill one another again or they need to lose the hivemind or yeah far fewer numbers.

As a solo antag I think they're pretty great. Only thing you cant antag test/randomly search to catch and strong combat abilities make them scary.
