Re: HELP: Adding reward mechanics to engineering

You said something about items coming in batches so it's not a race to the vendor. Could it be done similar to a mining vendor where you insert your ID/PDA to redeem points off it? That might help move it away from "it's cargo but we get points differently". Items are given a cost, and an ...

Re: HELP: Adding reward mechanics to engineering

With the redone engine this seems like the best time to do this. I love the idea behind the atmos mix selling one. My only concern with it is how pipes will occasionally get 0% whatever stuck in them after you try to clear the lines. I suppose the easiest way to fix that is Required Temp. Required P...

Re: Antags, Security and Admin Policy

When I was a new player I assumed if I had security turned on it would give me that first, then decide if I'm an antag or not. I kept it off for 9 months until I found out otherwise. Is it really so bad of jailbreaks happen or people are broken out? How often do you see the windows entering into med...

Re: Antags, Security and Admin Policy

edit: It strikes me that the people who think sec are underpowered are the same people who's "win" condition for security is when every antag is locked up and zero crime is being committed on the station, this contrasts with the view of others who see sec as having different win condition...

Re: Antags, Security and Admin Policy

Are we talking they can be anything from cult to ling to normal traitor? In terms of likely chances to grief for players I would say double agent<traitor<ling<cultist. A cultist security member is going to be encouraged to take out his department ASAP, or at least work heavily against them. Could so...

Re: Umbrage: Shadowling Redux

Having one shadowling with (no thrall thus almost no powers) running around enthralling people and moving them to a secondary base where there one attempting to ascend makes them theirs sounds amazing. The teamwork required to agree to be the lesser powered guy in this situation is entertaining too.

Re: Umbrage: Shadowling Redux

I'm not saying give the convert a cooldown. I mean make you question if you want to convert someone or not. The "spell" I was referencing was just some useful buff like spreading an anti lightblub. With the cults and rev they tend to convert everyone other than security/heads, then win. Th...

Re: Umbrage: Shadowling Redux

What if to fight the "mass rolling conversion train" each new recruit made them weaker in some way. The group as a whole would remain just as strong, it's just split up more. The simplest example I could think of would be a spell cooldown. With 1 person it has a 10 second cooldown. Two 20,...

Re: Admin Candidate and Tempmin Feedback General

Had an issue with some rather shitcurity (they busted into my working area, arrested me, and threw me in perma). I had made a virus and they thought I didn't drink it myself. I got a job change and they thought it was maybe an agent card. I had all access on my ID (the HOP turned out to be a traitor...

Re: What do you think you're known for? (egothread)

You're an antag literally every round[/quote] There are plenty of rounds where I'm in medbay just healing people, or security tossing out short sentences for stupid stuff. No-ones going to remember or complain about those rounds. If my behavior's actually been a noted admin issue please let me know....

Re: Cult Update Suggestions and Feedback

The airlock thing wasn't intended to stun or be overt. It was just intended as a way like disguise to throw off security. I meant it like mute sting works. You won't know about it until you try to say something. Another possible use would be put it outside your base doors. If someone spots you and s...

Re: Cult Update Suggestions and Feedback

Building cult airlocks still is more a clock thing. I was trying to think of a trap that has a relatively low cost/risk but might still be worth doing. Is that guy yelling in the radio but then said he is ok a cultist, or did he just touch a shitty airlock and not know it? You're revealed either way...

Re: Cult Update Suggestions and Feedback

Making the cult master count double for invocations seemed like an OK idea for about half a second, but really wouldn't be.The voltron construct sounds stupidly fun. Possibly just combine for a while then break back apart into lesser constructs to give a power spike when summoning rather than "...

Re: Instead of "fixing" GWar/Sling/etc., give Traitors some

Me. I always buy the surplus crate. You end up with more than you can carry. Half the time I just leave the crate in maintenance after. Camera bug, beacon, 2nd power fist/spacesuit/hardsuit, .357 loader without pistol, soap, carp, chem kit. If I can't carry and I don't have a plan for it, it stays i...

Sounds like a great idea.

It would be nice if it helped engineering more than the rest of the station. Recharging on air tanks, RCDs, and cut resistant wires?

Empathetic when tossing out a (deserved) temp ban. Clearly helped understand where I went wrong, and how other people in doing the same tend to handle it better or worse.

I like the idea behind recipes, but feel like people would just avoid the less used recipes as a result. I think research would be best as a department wide effort, rather than one person being stuck at the console. Break items down into 4 categories. Starting, Department Only, Outside Help, Special...

Re: Experimenting with the E.X.P.E.R.I-MENTOR

I feel like bionics mostly exist in the robotics lab with the number of available implants. Shrugs on the psionics. This is just some content that I'm capable of adding to the game. If I was really cool I would merge the destructive analyzer and it. The real question is now: Should science have some...

Experimenting with the E.X.P.E.R.I-MENTOR

Lets face it. This thing exists, mostly as the wrong room you wandered into on your way towards maintenance. It's not mandatory like R&D. It's not fought for who is working on it like xeno/toxins. It doesn't keep anything running like robo can when there is no medbay. I've seen the hallway turne...
