To elaborate on the containment button, ideally it would be used to turn containment on without all those steps whose only reason to exist is to make newbies loose engines. And then it can be used, after authenticating with nuke disk/other item from bridge, to shut it down and set the engine loose. ...

Instead of spending biomass to advance in the food web, you could have some Brain Matter organs that give you food web research points over time; you can spend biomass building and defending these, for faster research, or you can forego them for a quick expansion.

Circuit imprinter uses solid gold, so the only reason you want liquid gold is for curing viruses. Space tobacco has salbutamol for breathing with no air, useful for plant people. Omega weed holds 420 reagents instead of 100. For slippy non-banana plants you need to add the lube gene too to not be pe...

Re: Little things you learned that are game changing
Metabolization speed is important for chems and poisons, it means how much of the chem is consumed each tick. The interesting part is that some poisons have really really low metabolization rates: Curare, Polonium, and Cyanide consume 0.05 per tick which means 20 seconds of action PER UNIT. And the ...

Re: Pet Peeves Thread - Little things that REALLY annoy you
If anyone in engineering is an antag, you get a loose engine roundstart and there's nothing that you can do about it, and once it's loose it can't be stopped and is an instant shuttle call.
Sometimes the engineer doesn't even have to be antag and will still loose it.
