Re: "It's silicon policy time!" "No CentCom no!"

If I've understood the proposed revision, it puts more emphasis on following the server rules rather than AI specific rules designed to make it a punishment job. This I like. I did see a conflict in the policy, though: 2.3.2.2 - EVA and the like are not permitted to have access denied; greentext is ...

Oh, sorry, I was talking about the original policy.

The revised policy seems to be an improvement, overall. Sorry for my misinterpretation of your post, I'm tired and quite sick right now.

Re: "It's silicon policy time!" "No CentCom no!"

I feel like the silicon policy as it is is kinda rubbish. It takes Asimov laws (which are inherently flawed) and uses metarules to force an Asimovian AI to conform to what the playerbase expects an AI to behave like rather than letting any natural conflicts arise and cause problems that might make t...

Re: Little things you learned that are game changing

Bombing the engineering SMESes will cause the server to lag intolerably for five minutes.

Tcomms can be incapacitated by changing a single letter in the network names.

Re: Make Head of Personnel Antagproof

Because the HoP is, really, quite a shitty job that restricts you to one part of the station unless you want to be lynched. The opportunity to be an antag (maybe, possibly, a tiny little chance) isn't really a problem. To quote Jeb: "No." (not to mention that if you wanna stop antags havin...

Truth be told, in SS13 I'd probably use ERP as a changeling in order to get someone vulnerable. Then kill them.

Thanks, you've better articulated my point. *bow* I wouldn't mind having the default be corporate, honestly; while it has its ambiguities, it's more interesting to play and thematic(!) to the setting. I've made this exact thread with these exact points about twice before. Ah, this I didn't know. Un...

Re: Silicon policy. ick.

Just putting in my two cents on it (though I'm sure a bunch of sperging retards that don't actually understand or TRY to understand Asimov will crawl out of the woodworks and say I'm wrong). The whole silicon policy is kinda dumb. Not because it's nonfunctional, but because it's taking a system inh...

Whatever you say, buddy.

If possible, can an admin pull the logs of the round? Specifically, his borg and the word 'spy'. It should come up.

A "spy"? I did not say those words. I saw in plain site. the chapel was darkened except for the office in which you murdered Vincent You said to the HoS while I stood RIGHT THERE in Perma that you were informed by a 'spy'. I wish I kept the log, now, but I figured it was unnecessary with ...

I was one of the lings in question here. Nobody was in visible range of us murdering the crap of out of Vincent in the Chaplain's office. We made doubly sure of this. The fact that you told the HoS you 'had a spy' reeks of shit and frankly you deserve this. You had no EVIDENCE, and I mean HARD EVIDE...

It's not hardcoded though, so you have to get a key and get the roboticist to do it.
I know you can change the keys (I've done it a few times as a robo myself), the whole point of my suggestion was to remove that need. :p

Modular encryption keys for borgs + constructable keys?

Pretty simple idea: give cyborgs modular encryption keys that are hardwired to their interface or something (so it can't physically be removed) that change based on the module the cyborg is using. IE: Engineering module would have an engineering key, security has security, etc. Makes communicating w...
