Re: Cult tweaks
One of the reasons im so hostile is that these changes feel like a Trojan horse filled with shit about to take a dumb on cult mode. These changes were presented in a deceptive manner and if they go through it's going to be absolutely miserable playing cult. So yea I'm salty about these proposals and...

Re: Cult tweaks
Here's whats going to happen: 1) Ling is deadlier and more powerful than oldling ever was... I'm ok with this but holy shit if you people don't see this coming you deserve whatever you get from lings for the next several months. 2) Cult is going to be worse than it ever has at any point in its entir...

Re: Cult tweaks
Sac cult was already harder to play than convert-cult and now you nerf it even further? Really aiming for the coveted 5% win percentage newling would on occasion achieve are we?" My thoughts exactly. The fact that cultists are forced into the same robusting tactic (EMP+beatdown) as pre-armblad...

Re: Cult tweaks
This is a massive joke. I probably have more experience playing a cultist than anyone here so I'm going to say from the bottom of my heart that these are the worst changes I've ever seen proposed to a SS13 gametype. These are not "tweaks" and they certainly aren't "minor". This i...

Re: [POLL] Changeling rebalance
I'm in favor of all of this if lings stop getting cross-assassination objectives. Its the only gametype with its own secure antag channel that people won't cooperate on because they are worried about being backstabbed. Teamwork between antags produces the most interesting rounds, weve already got en...

Re: PSA: Codewords are now always given to everyone
I would pay TC's for an implant that lets me identify other traitors.
I bomb myself during most potato rounds because playing solo murderboner has gotten old for me. It's the TEAM antag stuff that still gives me a chub.

Re: Can we make Space Ninja less stupidly broken? Please?
Its slow and noisy but youre in maint with an auto-target spammable stun that can be used even when you're stunned.
Nobody is going to be able to touch you as a ninja unless you simply got lazy about recharging before you're in the single-digits and can't use any powers.

Re: Can we make Space Ninja less stupidly broken? Please?
Got ninja this morning and went to wipe out all the traitors, it was effortless. After playing, I have to say energy star is probably the second most broken aspect of ninja that even an invisibility nerf won't cure. Its literally a "press to stun everyone" spammable button that makes wipin...

Re: Can we make Space Ninja less stupidly broken? Please?
At least Hornygranny is fixing wizard (to an extent) by finally nerfing magic missile stun times so that they are in-line with the other stun nerfs. And at least I can see the wizard before he dunks me with some spell combo. Many of my comments about ninja changes do stem from the fact I haven't pla...

Re: Can we make Space Ninja less stupidly broken? Please?
Ninja code hasn't been changed at all for as far as I remember, bar one change by Cheridan that removed a reference to them in the code for disposal outlets . (yeah seriously that is very bad) In any case, nobody has made any balance changes or anything of that sort in a very, very long time, possi...

Can we make Space Ninja less stupidly broken? Please?
At some point someone decided this random event wasn't completely ruining enough rounds yet and decided to make him even more unstoppable. Invisibility and energy consumption for the ninja have been changed since I started playing here and they went from "Wizard with an esword" to "In...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
Why are you so hell bent on keeping a buff that wizards never needed?
Wizards could wipe out a station before magic missile became the longest stun in the game, why the fuck do they need it now.
A: They don't.

Re: Cult Conversion Requiring 3
He was planning more conversion methods but ~*code freeze*~ please read. Just unfortunate timing is all. Constructs are cool and useful, poorly equipped lazy converts while tapping into some of the grey rush of rev make for terrible gameplay. I have watched JLP be out shited by the sheer proliferat...

Re: Cult Conversion Requiring 3
The new way to win for the cult is to gather in once place and overwhelm security before they react without using any runes besides convert and sacrifice. The intention was to make it less like rev. It became more like rev. New cultists usually don't get tomes and nobody ever bothers to tell others...

Re: Hallucination sting
Armblade and Dissonant Shriek did a lot to fix newling. Newling is deadly again and is fully capable of overrunning the station on their own. Literally the only thing that can stop a well rounded newling is the ol' stunbaton... and even that is kind of a gamble if the ling took fleshmend. They can t...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
There is something deeply ironic about telling Oldman Robustin to get good at wizard. This is a guy who would dunk wizards over and over until he got told to stop. Glad im not the only person who noticed. I was permabanned last time I shot a wizard with mutagen because it was too powergamey. Now mu...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
The only place you can reliably fire lasers off-screen is primary halls. If you're a wizard in a primary hall you're sure as fuck watching your screen for any shit coming your way. If an armed crewmember manages to spot you and then fire on you from off-screen and land several shots without you movi...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
Lethals are just as pointless as stuns. Paprika you're advocating catching a wizard "by surprise". I have no idea which wizards you've fought but "by surprise" doesn't really exist when a wizard is prepared for every person he meets to be hostile, and the guy wearing all blue and...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
You can dodge magic missiles until they fade away, you can kill a wizard in less than 2 seconds with a well applied laser gun. small bombs, flamethrowers and IEDs will mess them up well too, and shocked grills are amazing if you can pick a fight in a couple of them. Syringe guns are GG no re wizard...

Wires shocking on contact
Yes this is another "I ded" thread. This isn't about nerfing or balancing as much as fixing an unintuitive and unfun bug. Right now if you click on a wire in maintenance while holding anything (or nothing) and not wearing insulated gloves... you will be shocked and take massive burn damage...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
I have a new policy. Every wizard round, no matter what role I'm playing. Captain, HoS, Warden, Officer, Assistant, Engineer, whatever. As soon as a wizard appears I'm going to suicide. It's that simple. Fix magic missile or ban me for suiciding in key positions. I don't care. I've never seen a sin...

Didn't take long for me to make good on that promise, next round:

Did the crew a favor by at least dying someplace they could loot me instead of the wizard. That's seriously the best thing you can do as a captain vs. wizard now... die someplace convenient.

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
Ointment and Bruisepacks are instant. You can self-analyze your wounds too so you know exactly where to heal (90% of the time it will be chest/head anyway). Right now getting lasered by security just means blinking/jaunting/teleporting out of danger for about 3 seconds while you click ointment twice...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
To the people saying "Why stun a wizard?" It's because BEFORE the nerf it was like this: MAGIC MISSILE STUN < ELECTRODE STUN. NOW: MAGIC MISSILE STUN > ELECTRODE STUN. Yes now wizard stuns are pointless and you're forced to try and kill him with lasers and other projectiles. Unfortunately ...

Re: The time has come, nerf magic missile
Its been able to stun borgs for a very long time. I think MM is fine but I do agree its stun time needs to be brought in line with the other stun alterations as it stands out like a sore thumb. It seemingly stuns for longer than most other non-lethal weapons. Well that's why it isn't fine and why I...

The time has come, nerf magic missile
MM has always been a crucial spell for any combat wizard and it's always been teetering on the line between "acceptably OP" (aka enough for 1 wizard to survive against dozens of bloodthirsty crew) and "bullshit win button". With the stun nerfs, the new balance has pushed MM firml...
