Hello, tg players and other forum-goers! Did you know that March into Mapness has started? Did you know further that means you can submit a mapping pr (fixes, features, changes, whatever) and the first one you submit will get you an ANTAG TOKEN? Until april, we're having a drive to recruit people who have never contributed more into the world of mapping, presenting resources guides, and even a channel just for supporting new mappers to make it as easy as possible to become a...

I'm not in charge of anything involving NTstation but I'd like to know how everyone thinks of how things are for the NTstation codebase/#Nanobus/Artyom/etc. How could they improve? What do you not like about them? What do you do like? Etc.
Please keep it civil, and I'd like to avoid '/tg/code vs nt-code' drama.
Please note that the feedback subforum is not the place to put bug reports. If you've found a bug, here's what you should do.
Take a screenshot of the bug in question, and file a bug report on the /NT/station GitHub Issue page. Ensure that you describe what the bug is, when it happened, what the circumstances were, and any other details you can remember. The /NT/station GitHub page is here.
Alert the coders in #nanobus that there is a bug. They will put it on their priority list (read: laugh at your...
When sentient beings collectively believe in something hard enough, it may just spawn into existence. As more people believe in something, it gets stronger. Conversely, if nobody believes in it, the being ceases to exist.
In Hand of God, you play as a newly formed Deity or a Cultist for your deity. However, you are not the only cult on-board your station. A second, rival cult, may attempt to steal your rightful flock, or worse, try to kill your deity, so their...
Currently, the job selection takes priority over the antag status. So if have a protected job set to high, you will never have a chance to become a traitor sadly!
What if this priority was switched? So that if you are selected to become a traitor the game will simply select a non protected job for you instead? This would also mean that if you have security officer set to high, you will still be able to become a traitor occasionally.
I have been working on quite a few chem based features for a while. Some of them are already on the server, some of them are functional but not quite ready yet. I haven't received a lot of feedback on them yet so I'd like to ask for some more!
Links to the PRs with descriptions:
Chempen traitor item (Merged and on server)
A few new chems. (Merged and on server)
More chems, rebalances and a new poison kit traitor item. (WIP)
How do you feel about the new chems, the rebalances and the traitor items? Do...
Extract sting no longer gives genomes (still gives appearances)
Genome objective lowered to 2-4 genomes
Debrain objective removed (you will always get genomes + steal + escape)
The goal of this change is to restore the horror feel of the game mode, and require that lings stick their necks out a little bit. Objective counts are still relatively low to discourage station-clearing. Debrain was removed because it's very difficult and everybody hates it. You may have negative memories of oldling, but keep...
The idea behind this thread is approximately around the transition between two months, either just before the end of it, or a little after the beginning of the next one, we will post our favorite new features or feature tweaks of the past month.
So, to kick it off, since it's July 1st, what are some of your favorite additions to NTstation13 in the month of June?
(EDIT: If you're late to the party, feel free to post about your favorite stuff last month throughout the current month. The important thing is...
Simply put, many have complained that this ability is OP. In response, I am ready to either nerf or remove it entirely.
The following nerfs I would make are:
EDIT: Revised nerf below!
- Airlocks are no longer shocked
- Cost doubled to 40 CPU time.
- Bolted airlocks will have their bolt light status unchanged (The lights will be on unless turned off beforehand)
- Opening/Closing code optimized to reduce lag potential.
- Fire doors are now closed without activating the alarm, making...
* Fixes wizard door wand exploit in a very fun way with step_trigger/teleport into singularity.
* Adds bay's shuttle windows. They're exactly the same as reinforced windows in terms of health.
* (A lot of) Centcom's machines there are not actually machines. They're actually structures that look like machines, to reduce lag.
* Much of the structure is old centcom, but moved around. Embellishments and artistic license has also been used heavily so it's somewhat unique. Somwhat.

When a round starts, there's a certain crewmember:antag ratio that is kept when the game decides to make people into antags. While I don't know SoS's config files, the default on NTstation suggests that it's 6 so every 6th crewmember is a traitor(unless less peoples enable it).
However, with latejoin traitors, this ratio seems to be completely ignored and there is a random chance instead which seems to be much lower than the chance of being a roundstart antag.
I know up to even just a few weeks ago as a player in a job like scientist/engineer/medicaldoctor/etc you could swipe your ID onto an assistants ID and that assistant gained basic access to your department and ID displayed Assistant to John Doe but I've tried it twice recently and it no longer works. I was wondering why it got removed and if we could put it back in.
theyre really awful
its no longer the emergency shuttle has docked with the station or whatever its just a cut off of attention and it sounds horrible and is really stupid because you cant tell whats going on unless you read the thing which is the entire opposite of the point of making a sound in the first place
hearing meteors on collisions course with the station was like a breath of fresh air because it seems to be the only one that actually sounds good anymore
We recently merged a lot of /tg/'s new content onto NT and we are live testing it so there are bound to be bugs, post them here and our crack team of bug fixers will move on them like a mob of space wasps.
KNOWN ISSUES:
- OOC/ghost/lobby manifest is not in order / shows all staff positions under 'misc'
- Wooden plank icon_state is bugged - FIXED
- Mutated kudzu can silently instagib people - FIXED
- OOC is muted at roundstart - Possibly Fixed
- Medical records list fingerprints instead of DNA...
Holy shit, I'm not going to say how to make the tomy gun, but it is EXTREMELY easy to do even as a non antag, and it's a 50 ROUND mag, 20 brute + stun, it is fucking retardedly good.
it's literally just a 50 round version of the m1911, which is already pretty damn good with an 8 round mag!
This weapon should either not be buildable, or MUCH harder, as it's better then even a c-20r.
Credit goes to Zuhayr for the code.
Credit goes to MrSnapwalk for sprites.
I just got it to a position in which it works enough that it can be used, sort of.
There still might be parts that don't work, which I'm still trying to find. If you find any, let me know.
This PR adds Rapid Prototyping, a system to produce your own unique gadgets and gizmos in science, so you have something to do other then spend 5 minutes grinding R&D levels then SSDing .
Right now you can build all components at roundstart,...
New update has restricted Robotics access to RnD. Mind you we can still go in every other section of science but none of them are relevant to robotics like research. With such low pop doing this hinders any possibility for research to be done. I play often during the day when Im the only science member and without RnD we can do no research on a research station. Please change it back.
Unless there's an assistant breaking in to the captains office every round, unwrenching the chairs at the table and stealing the metal then screwdriving the doors so nobody can tell he did it, the comfy chairs that are normally at the table are no longer there.
This pull request makes it so that at roundstart, the lawset is randomized based on a selection of existing lawsets.
This thread is to discuss the nuances of policy for these lawsets, specifically I would like to talk about Safeguard (baylaws) and how they should be implemented for compatibility with the /tg/ community.
There has been discussion about changing Safeguard into a single law which encompasses all of the laws within it, so that the 0th law

The mishaps on the Hand Tele and the station teleporter ought to be swapped around - Mostly because the station teleporter sees a lot of use, and having a 33% chance of major toxin damage and being turned into a fly is terrible .
Can you guys stop merging anything and everything that is pull requested? I understand not denying content based on code, but stop adding stupid, broken and unbalanced shit please. This spell is awful, and stupid. I would personally like to see it reverted. I am not the only one who thinks this, quite a few people agree with me.
Personally, I prefer the slower speed. It's not unreasonably slow. It makes combat feel less yakkety and more strategy. It really is not bad at all.
I understand that people like to go at super speeds, but let's be reasonable and consider the actual gameplay. Something that makes it easier for you to win isn't necessarily better.
This PR changes the boozepwr of many drinks.
It's as of yet untested, but it does make many of the drinks less potent so you can drink more without stumbling all over yourself.
This thread is to discuss the exact values of different drinks, so if you see any values here which you disagree with, speak up.
It's an item that's just begging to be spammed, and often is used that way.
I've never seen it used or talked about in a positive light.
Was just curious if others felt the same, and if public outcry was great enough to get the thing gone.
I've added the replace it with x option to maybe toss around a few ideas of non-spammy items that could be added in it's stead.
With the addition of Mega Carp, laser carp, and changing carp color, I'de say someone has a carp fetish. My question is, why? I don't really care about the colors but pink feels more traditional than purple. Carp fuck up so many people all ready, why make it harder to see them? Why do we need even more powerful carp to fuck people up with? What is the point of even more carp? HELL WHY DONT WE MAKE A SPACESHARK HUH?? Also, the lazer carp has an aweful sprite.
9mm ammo got nerfed to 15 damage (from 25), althought the mag size went from 18 to a nice round 20 finally (why the dickens was it ever 18?), 15 damge means it's 7 shots to crit a non armored target, you'd be better off throwing floortiles then making an smg.
Stechkin is literally double the damage of this, and lasers were already better in most cases (xenos/carp etc being weak to burn damage), so why would anyone want to use it anymore, considering it requires research and mining to make, as well as...
Back before it was changed, Cryo used to have an Eject-Cryo verb, accessible from the inside. Took a few minutes to work, but it allowed you to not get forgotten in cryo. New cryo doesn't have that. Please fix.
I'm not sure if I've suddenly started doing it wrong, but it seems to me like all wiring auto-smooths right now. If you lay a wire on a knotted wire, it turns into a smoothed wire.
Can we revert this? Ever since this went through, I've been having a lot of trouble doing my wiring because I never figured out how to do wire junctions with smooth wires.
You can click multiple times on the candy machine with a singular item, and gain multiple outputs of whatever you are making (even different ones as the menu shows for each click), until the first one has finished making. I managed to make 10 donut filled donuts out of one input donut by multiple clicks.
Today i realized why NT was split off. Not because of people, it would not of mattered the people, it is the system itself that lead to it.
NT comprises of ~70% forumites who never get on IRC (and ~10% people who were ostracized from coderbus for various reasons and ~20% people who are straddling the gap between the two branches). Coderbus prefers to do its work on the IRC for reasons explained later on. I believe this is the fundamental issue.
What happens when the forumites get mad? They make a...
