Brain Traumas
Finally completed the wiki page for brain traumas: https://tgstation13.org/wiki/Brain_Trauma.
I could use opinions on existing traumas as well as ideas for new ones, as the list is still kind of small.

Re: Brain Traumas
It's in, and cloning doesn't deal enough damage to cause severe traumas. I might change that in the future, though; early clones coming out paralyzed due to nerve damage does sounds realistic.

Minor trauma idea: Muscle spasms. Causes you to “use” whatever is in your hand. Anything from randomly firing a gun to setting off a flashbang.

Re: Brain Traumas
Mild: You struggle to gain control of your body. Stuns last twice as long.
Your hands shake. Firing a gun is always inaccurate (like when dual wielding).
Don't have your totin'chip. Attacking with a sharp item always hurts you (like glass shards)
Prosopamnesia. Everyone is unknown.
Severe: You've forgotten how to breathe. Gains the cursed heart effect where they must manually pump it.
No guns. No guns, maybe in clown fashion maybe in hands too big.
Running with scissors. Moving while you have a sharp item out has a chance to attack you.
(Joke referencing the identity system overhaul). You don't get to see names of who's speaking over the radio, only in person.
That should be enough to get both lists up to 10 options?
The specials are cool but I have no good balanced ideas for them.

Nabski, i actualy had Prosopamnesia, agnosia, or whatever coded and functional, but it was an ungodly snowflakey mess and had to strip it for every coder's sanity.

Re: Brain Traumas
I had a rather ridiculous idea for a special trauma. It attempts to convert you to a cultist (blood or clock, 50/50 chance for either). You don't get a tome/slab - just the antag status. You can still get the tome/slab from an emagged library console, so you can properly start a cult.

Crits only, they also have a separate chance of directly causing a Concussion brain trauma. Deconverting revs by beating their heads in is gonna be problematic.

Phantom Pain: Can't do that unless i heavily refactor limb code i'm afraid.
Increased Reflexes: Maybe i can make it work as a martial art, i'll have to look into combat code.
Psionic Aptitude: i'd really like making a set of psionic spells, and giving one at random.

Re: Brain Traumas
I suggested a similar thing on the PR itself tbh
Psychic Unlock:
By random chance, the trauma the patient has received has caused them to gain psychic powers! The odds of this happening are incredibly rare, make sure to inform Nanotrasen of this and submit the crewmember to further study.
Effects: Patient gains the following abilities: Whisper (One-way telepathic messages to someone in their line of sight), Psychic scream (Behaves the same way as the Changeling ability), Telekinesis (as the genetics power), Blind (as the Wizard spell) and Astral Projection (Temporarily leave your body and become an incorporeal, ghostly duplicate of yourself and leaving your body comatose for the duration. Incorporeal duplicates can pass through walls and see Revenants/ghosts but cannot hear them, they also cannot use machinery or pick-up items and will die in one hit, sending them back to their bodies but cause the body to throw up and suffer stamina damage.)

Re: Brain Traumas
Major trauma: Crawling in my skin.
The patient believes that spiders are under their skin, and will periodically rip and tear and their own arms to get them out.
Broken self-analysis.
Patient can no longer tell if they're damaged or not.
Forgotten tongues.
What are people saying? You can't remember anything about galatic common. It's all goobledegook.
Minor trauma: Speaking in tongues.
Every few sentences, spin the wheel of languages and speak in it.
Special trauma: Out of body experience.
Every few minutes, ghost the patient for a few seconds. Return them shortly after.

Here's another severe one, since eyes see the world upside down and the brain flips it right way up, just break that part of the brain, have them see everything upside down.
It's an easy effect to code too, just apply a matrix to their client's plane masters (like with Rotatium and Skewium)

Consider that we're in the honeymoon phase of the feature where everyone wants to try it, i bet it'll become rarer as time passes. Still, i don't really like godwoken used tactically; i want powers to be mostly uncontrolled.

Re: Brain Traumas
It was originally like this, but it only resulted in people spamming the same phrase until it triggered. The PR that is up right now changes it into a 15 second window instead, triggering randomly.
EDIT: Reading again i see you meant random words, and while that does make it very uncontrollable, a predetermined list of phrases breaks immersion too much imo. Either i make a list of barebones commands, which feels metagamey, or i make a list of extended phrases which will be jarring when they eventually get repeated.

Re: Brain Traumas
How about Fugue states, in which your character is standing still comatose but your camera appears to be controlling a fake version of you that cant interact with items and such, until it ends and you suddenly revert back to normal where your real body is.
Only downside to this is you could get real information from this.
Another idea would be sociopathy, in which you no longer get "seizes up limp and lifeless" messages, don't see emotes at all, and cant examine people to see their injured state.
Depression would be a easy thing to add, as it could just be a global speed debuff and a reduced stamina maximum, maybe with some forced emotes and fluff messages to add flavor.
You could basically add any mental illness that can be caused by brain trauma

Some of these ideas are really cool, but can't feasibly be coded without extreme snowflake. For example, for sociopathy i'd have to put a check in visible_message (an extremely generic proc) to prevent people with one specific trauma from hearing one specific message.

Severe Trauma: Inner Demon
A slow mob that goes through walls and cannot be killed, if it touches you, you instantly commit suicide. It will follow to the ends of the station to find you, teleporting to new z-levels if you enter them
Running away from things in general is not a game-friendly mechanic either, really, because either you easily outrun it or circumstances make it impossible, and neither is engaging, imo.
