Defibrillator
At first I was skeptical and thought it would end up being a gimmick, but I gotta say I really love it now when I play medic. With tg's very simple med system, doctors don't see much action, you just put people in sleeper or cryo, dump them in front of cloning, or slap them with a bruisepack. The defibrillator really adds a situation where doctors are more useful than the medical machines. So yeah, thanks Paprika!

No but really, the defib is the best thing to happen with the medical system in a long time.

Re: Defibrillator
The only complaint I have regarding the defib is that people don't know how to use it. A couple times I've dropped dead in front of doctors and they'll grab me and haul me off to genetics instead of using the defib. That sorta thing should pass in time, though.

Re: Defibrillator
The worst is when you die of poisoning from it...
The toxin damage stops accumulating, but the toxins stay in the body in a chemical form. So they defib you, you're alive, and because they think inaprovaline will save an elephant from a machine gun, you die moments later as toxin damage overtakes you once more.

This is because it probably lacks wiki entries and a guide but I'm lazy so oh wellwhodaloo wrote:The only complaint I have regarding the defib is that people don't know how to use it. Re: Defibrillator
This might be a reaaaallly fun addition if we were willing to add a Paramedic job slot.

Re: Defibrillator
Stop shilling for a job slot which is literally just the MD with a different name.

Re: Defibrillator
Yup, if you want to be a paramedic you can just ask for advanced access as a doctor.
Defibrillators are awesome. Finally something that means specialised medical doctors have more of a place (most crewmembers don't want to give up a backpack slot, after all).
What is slightly frustrating is when people immediately start dragging a corpse from its starting point to medbay if you're at the starting point. Because you have to defib ASAP, it can be really annoying, and cost people the chance to get revived fast.

What's worse is when you're actually in Medbay, you start defibrillating and someone drags them away to cloning.

Re: Defibrillator
Watched an engineer beat a guy currently in crit with a defib, then throw it away.
I guess this is why he was an engineer, people are too complicated for him.

This kind of thing is why I've started beating the shit out of non-medical staff who come into medbay and start screwing around with patients.Rhisereld wrote:What's worse is when you're actually in Medbay, you start defibrillating and someone drags them away to cloning.

Re: Defibrillator
How about more parametric gear rather than a dedicated job? We get like 4 doctors, and unless things are particularly shit, Medbay can be handled by one doctor. It wouldnt hurt to lose one to paramedic duty.mrpain wrote:This might be a reaaaallly fun addition if we were willing to add a Paramedic job slot.
