Airless or air dependent flames
Can we just have a solid maintainer decision made about whether we should or should not allow fire emitting objects (unless its forced like a welder) work in oxygen-less environments.
For example #26487 which is in regards to whether cigarettes should even work without O2 present.
All of this hinges on the bonfire object being non consistent on lavaland because we need oxygen in the atmosphere to ignite, wheras other objects like torches, matchsticks, lighters etc the list goes on don't even pay attention to this snowflake rule. As per feedback about bonfires as a whole they are good tribal feature but you can only ever use them in specific circumstances of the oxygenated station rather than actually on lavaland/ away from the station.
Lava fire is literally magic if there's no O2.

Re: Airless or air dependent flames
IIRC Lavaland does have oxy, just not enough to sustain human breathing.

Lavaland does have oxygen and an atmosphere, it is simply too thin for humans to breathe.
Lavaland's atmosphere, as read from an analyzer is:
Someone who launched an aux base built expanded rooms, using a scrubber and vent combination to create a compressor. He managed to make several other rooms safe to breathe in this manner.

Re: Airless or air dependent flames
In that case then a simple amendment to lower the required minimum amount of oxygen (so it wouldn't work in a void) would be enough, and to extinguish other sources of (non forced like welderfuel) fire?

Engines work in space because of the third newtonian law in which the force of the engines running forcefully igniting and ejecting fuel pushes the ship through the void.DemonFiren wrote:welders burn in space

If you want to get all technical about it, welders a sufficiently not realistic enough but also advanced enough to use their fuel efficiently like a superminature jet engine and obviously from the remark you wish to express that welders must consume more fuel or a unit of fuel passively every 5 ticks because of wastage in a non 02 enviroment until the whole fuel problem is fixed by superior advanced welders.

Not if the welding fuel contains an oxidizer!DemonFiren wrote:welders burn in space
