Brown, Nonslip shoes

I just got a traitor caught and brigged because he was wearing brown shoes, and noslips come only in brown, and brown shoes are Det/QM/Command only.
Can we put some multicolor shoes in the locker room? Can we give noslips a chameleon effect?

He wasn't even arrested, he was asked to be searched, and pulled out a gun instead

Chameleon effect would be the obvious solution

Don't gawk and say 'Metagaming the color of his shoes is awful!' TG is about roleplay, but it's also about being the most robust you can be in the same way we allow officers to recognize red multitools, syndi toolboxes, and everything else.

Giving it a chameleon effect would be best. Never try to make a policy decision to fix someone's roleplay. Changing no-slips to not be stupidly miscolored or single colored is a great gameplay change to keep the game fair.

After all, there are subtler ways to check for no-slips than yanking them off of an assistant's feet, and officers might just do that as a 'joke' and then suddenly miraculously prove it was no-slips.

So, Chameleon-Brand™ Non-Slip Shoes. Can be disguised as any footwear - Brown/Black/Orange/White shoes, Jackboots, Dress shoes, Sandals, Clown. Can also completely forego disguise, with special Chameleon-Tek Style! (read: Multitool/emag for rainbow shoes)

You used to be able to put noslip shoes in a washing machine to disguise them but someone said 'no fun allowed'

I would like this very much. A lot of the time I don't take no-slips even though I really need them because my job doesn't use brown shoes.

Washing machine code is a bit fucked, so it wouldn't suprise me if things break in and around the place.

We should get around to rewriting it.

Just give time a one-time use self-click ability to change the type of look that the shoes have. Jackboots, white shoes, black shoes, you pick!

And make the default brown, so if an assistant gets busted for wearing brown shoes I've got nothing to say to him except "git gud"

Brown shoes are in the lockers that have colored jumpsuits.

Any reason you can't recolor them anymore with the washing machine and a crayon? Did it remove the no slip effect or something?

Also removed around the same time as putting noslips in the washing machine: putting clown shoes in the washing machine with crayons and surprising people with disguised squeaky shoes.

Clearly this is the push we need to restore this functionality.
