So today my sister played as assistant and I noticed that she spawned in pink jumpsuit.

Since when and why grey assistants were removed?

The stated reason was to "improve the image of assistants" and "remove the stigma of being grey" or at least something along those lines. Its all pseudo-psychological silly business though.

Not the worst thing but I would far prefer being able to select my jumpsuit colour on round start.

To be fair, anyone arguing that looking similar to other people in the same job field would have to look at redoing every single clothing choice on the station, not to mention that most organisations have their employees wear a similar uniform in a professional setting.

Also the change was a big buff to antagonists, since now its far easier to blend in with the assistant crowd by wearing a random coloured jumpsuit.

Personally I don't think it should be added at roundstart since I predict a lot of people would just go back to grey, which sort of defeats the purpose of the change. The colours should probably be less garish, though.

There's usually much more assistants than any other department employees. Normal department has 7 employees when full, when +20 assistants isn't a rare sight.

I really believe in the psychology behind this. When you don't look almost perfectly alike with other people, you don't feel like belonging to something, and assistants shouldn't belong anywhere.

Because there's a big probability that people will just choose gray jumpsuit and the color option would be redundant and situation would be the same as it ever was. We want assistant to be the tutorial-job it was intended to be and guide people to play other jobs.

Which would be good, but when said Assistant swaps their jumpsuit to a different colour, now Security is looking for the green shirted assistant, not the yellow shirted one.

At least add more jumpsuits to those colorful lockers. Or better yet replace that locker in the dorms that has pajamas with a color lockers(or whatever it is called). Fuck that pajamas locker.

I'm not offended but I'm also not sure what you're saying. My comment was basically, "Most people seem not to mind, and I just change into a color I actually like if it comes down to it."
