Low pop game modes are suffering.

Post by invisty » #96061

The game modes are: extended, traitor, traitor/changeling, changeling.
I imagine it was never the intention of coders to have the low population game modes limited to such an awful array of antagonists for 4-5 hours every night, but this is the case. Short of admin intervention, these rounds often end up being a case of 1-2 antagonists quietly removing as many people as they can from play until they get bored and call the shuttle. There is frequently no AI and no security, so you know how that goes. It would be really great if we could get some more game modes that suit lower populations, or scale according to the server population. Traitor and changeling currently scale according to server population. Gang seems like a great new game mode suited to ~20 players and no security, since they're a third party, and wizard could easily be modded by the coders to allocate wizard spells based on the # of players. Blob could be tweaked to scale the growth rate of the blob with the number of players.

Players who play during low pop hours or live in Australia are welcome to provide input.

Live in australia, can confirm it's pretty shitty.

Either it's traitors and lings who do fucking nothing for three 2 hour long rounds in a row or we shit through rounds because noone is playing sec or AI so someone decides to murderboner the entire station every round. I'd like to see some underpowered wizards or gangs on top of the two types of round we get now.
