Wizard acadamy feedback

Post by J_Madison » #137210

Wizard academy
Is the player wizard REALLY necessary?

Away missions are player vs monster, why is a magic missile fireball wizard here when theres so many NPC wizards not to mention the singulos around that stun you.

Away missions are NPC combat not player combat.

Why do you think an away mission would spawn a player?

The away mission spawns a player controlled wizard with MM and Fireball.

Wizard academy is easily the best away mission we have by a LONG shot.

Player wizard really makes it so much better.

Though the singularities on it should be removed/made to not eat things so that the wizard doesn't just gib everyone that goes over on it.

The wizards need to keep shooting fireballs when they KO people, because it's kinda stupid (but also hilarious in a lot of ways) to see the wizards playing whack-a-mole with crewmembers until they eventually get lit on fire and die. This is also a problem with atmos firesuits because they're basically immune to the simple mobs at that point.

Also there needs to be a medkit in the headmasters office, because bleeding exists.

The windows in the bridge of the academy also need to not be breakable, because players can bust those open and vent the teacher spawn so that they suffocate before they get given control over by players.

Anything with other players is better than NPCs.

Away missions would probably be better as a gamemode focused around the crew exploring them and fighting other players on them.

I've done stations with massive one-off PVE dungeons and the like, and they really get better when there's player-controlled NPCs and the like to hinder the crew.

Besides, mobs won't let you send the crew up against a mech.

Yes we have a term for that, they're called just characters.

Well I still think the idea of a defensive antag the crew is sent to attack off station is solid.

The fireball's stun is pretty fucking ridiculous.

Can the cooldown of fireball be increased on the PCNPC please?

It's balanced out by being clunky to use and getting most wizards to fireball themselves.

Fireball doesn't stun, it has a random chance to KO due to how explosions work. If you want to be basically immune to them wear a firesuit or a bomb suit, though the bomb suit won't prevent you from getting lit on fire.

This mission is kinda impossible currently. All the wizards have blink so they're impossible to pin down.

Can we also remove the singulos in the opening rooms? They just suck out atmos and gib people which isn't really necessary in an away mission that's THIS hard already.
