Security uniforms have been ruined once again.
RED is the color of the Security. GREY is the color of the GREYTIDE. How hard is it to understand? I thought we reached that conclusion years ago.
GIVE ME BACK MY RED JUMPSUIT.

Require all security officers to dye their suits in assistant blood, alternatively.

Re: Security uniforms have been ruined once again.
I'unno, three uniforms might make sense.
In ascending order of formality, from "wear while beating greyshirts" to "wear while beating CentComm officials": working uniform (red jumpsuits), service dress (those collared shirt-and-tie things) full/parade dress (whatever looks fancy but has some red on it).

I have a opinion but I can't be asked to get into another long war over the issue.
So you win, but I still say this should be a alt uniform than the default one. No sense changing something harmless like a uniforms colour that has been around since the start of ss13

Re: Security uniforms have been ruined once again.
Erm, could we make a special security clothes vendor? I know it would more or less double the amount of some armour, but it would solve the sprite war.
Either that, or an item which changes the sprites between alternative and old, call it "Sewing kit" or something.
EDIT: It would double the amount of: Armor, warden's jacket, warden's armored jacket, and some sec jumpsuits. Note that with armor already in the armory, this wouldn't make that much of a difference if someone wanted to outfit entire crew with armor (warops, blob, badmin events, tier4 devil?).

The only difference here between the old uniform and the new uniform is pretty much down to the color scheme.
Also the blue Warden uniform is just fucking horrible and was removed for a good reason.

Re: Security uniforms have been ruined once again.
If you wanted to make Sec "blue" you would also need to compleatly redo all Security related sprites to change their primary color from red to blue.
This includes weapon and alt clothing sprites, floor tiles, computer sprites, shuttle tiles, evac shuttle brig tiles. All this on all maps the game has.
This is just a asthetic change, its no """""""""Refactor"""""""""" since it missed 95% of everything to just change sec's sprites for the fifth time.

Yes. That's why the reasoning is: RED IS THE ESTABLISHED COLOR OF SECURITY. The rooms are red. The airlocks are red. The lockers are red. The consoles are red. The PDA's are red. The caps, berets and bandanas are red. The pepperspray is red. The holobarricades are red.
Is that good enough for you?

No you retard.
If someone is fully willing to do the entire conversion work themselves what right do you have to say "Nah bro". Something as incredibly trivial as an aesthetic theme should be down to IG Community vote rather than an internal coderbus war/discussion.
Steelpoint, Most of those items have a red tinge, the primary color is infact not red.

Re: Security uniforms have been ruined once again.
But its still red.
Not blue, not green, not whatever, its got red as one of the more stark and primary colors that is consistent with most security equipment.
If this was a refactor then all those items would've needed to be resprited to change it from red to blue.
This is a change that was not needed, and we've already been down this road before.
This is change for the sake of it, it's unnecessary, it has NO effect on player behavior (as we all saw last time this was done) and overall its just a change in bad faith.

Oh I'm sorry, I don't care if someone takes the effort to CONVERT something to another scheme or whatever.
So I guess all I have to do, by your logic, to get a shit change added to the game is to slave over it (or claim to) and say "bu-bu-but you don't get to say nah bro to my change I worked hard on it".
Spin on with those shit excuses.

Tornadium what you're ironically failing to realize is, that creating special snowflake sprites that do not adhere to established color scheme, without consulting it with community, is literally forcing your individual aesthetic preferences.

Re: Security uniforms have been ruined once again.
Oh please, if you're going to get that uptight about a fucking color scheme then you need to fucking relax. An aesthetic change is not a shit change just because you don't like the new scheme.
This isn't even a fucking overhaul, it's just adding a slightly modified uniform that is still very easily recognizable as security. It's not even something as serious as completely converting everything to blue and you're still bitching. Even if someone wanted to make that change it's not a shit change until the community actually decides that it's a shit change.
Unless I missed something and suddenly a minority of coderbus is the supreme authority on everything.
Stagnancy is in a lot of cases not a good thing.

How many people are on Github PR's versus the more visible, and easier to keep track of, forums?
I'll always take in game poll and such with more weight than the forums and github, but I would take the forums over github for feedback. Github's better for code commenting.

You know what's funny? The current armor vest is the old armor vest that was introduced during last change, and ultimately rejected. I have it in my avatar, which I also created to show disdain towards the uniform changes that you tried to push. And now we came around in full circle.
That's a really cute shifting of the blame. How about you make a thread yourself next time, so people could voice their opinions BEFORE you drop the pr. That should somewhat reduce the bickering.TechnoAlchemist wrote:The pr was positively received and making a forum thread will, as it always has, result in shit flinging and vocal minority issues and bickering
