Least that's what coderbus thinks will happen if we mix drinks incorrectly in a non-sterile environment surrounded by people.

What im trying to get at, is that there are TOO many ruins with a 'focus' on bartending RP and not a lot of content, or actually enjoyable things being pushed to the sidelines, if you want to promote bartending, then add more drinks and effects to drinks as to make it worth our while and either make it a central focus about yourself drinking those drinks OR serving them to a real selection of human beings who can actually get to your place easily and willingly. (hotel's problem, its behind a locked room & a teleporter which as much more practical functions, if it was a alternative or even optional gateway setting it'd be fine.)

Give beach bums beer hats or something so they can literally chug orange juice as they go rendering the need for air void etc, practical applications for drink effects.

Bartenders

> Can throw reagent containers without spilling purposefully & initially start out with a anti esword weapon (the shottie with riot bullets)
> Can heal themselves by over consuming basic components of drinks like cream for brute & tomato juice for burns to help tank damage or even jump straight out of critical by metabolism.
> Serve as a direct counter to cryosting lings (and some lings/antags in general with adverse affects) and is the person to help you recover or delay falling into crit/being dazed with refreshing coffee latte (robust as shit, that heals your brute wounds & recovers heat and dizzyness) as your non nutritional buff master.

Bartender = Well rounded, what they can make isn't quite so as there are some generally good recipes while the rest is fluff or outright harmful which nobody would drink unless you spiked it. We are not going to play more bartender RP'ish ghost roles because of a lack of supply on only having 1 on station, but more-so that its 1. a very demanding RP job and 2. doesn't have enough depth in the actual profession with drinks (because hell yeah lets make some super complicated shit) to justify playing AWAY from the variety of people you are supposed to RP with to fulfill a lot of your function.

Please stop forcing RP jobs with no flavour or content and especially cramming them in the ruins.
  • Being able to escape from the beach bum (literally a bar) or animal hospital (surgery is another RP job, same issue) to go to the station is a petty clause for keeping them in the game and justifying it under the scheme of having lavaland be pressurized, which if it wasn't, those roles wouldn't exist.

Here's another one, bloody-mary restores your blood levels with passive salbutomol. (because its bloody)

See? vague, funny and functional effects make the profession much more useful but not quite as direct as chemistry chems.

I actually agree with Fwoosh on this one, we have too many bartending focussed thingies like the beach bums and space bar. Hotel has a full bar anyways so not really sure what the Space Bar is for.

Remove the hotel and beach bums, make the space bar into a space diner with a bar

If there really needs to be any more than that, at least give them a purpose, like a ye olde inn on lavaland that functions as a drink and ghetto chemistry-based medbay, with spawns for a few super generic fantasy heroes with crappy gear that can go out and collect goliath asses to redeem at a noticeboard for building and drink materials or something
Or how about a small unstaffed bar structure that has a chance to spawn directly adjacent to the more fleshed out civilization ruins like ash walker camps or free golem ships, to give one of them something extra to do(which would also solve the problem of these predominantly RP jobs being set up in places that have next to no patronage)

All good ideas. I especially like the shitty D&D party concept, especially if you can choose your own class. Also as a tongue-in-cheek jab at how miner progression is currently becoming more about getting loot drops from bosses and enemies as a central focus, and less about delivering resources for the station (so that they give you better tools) by literally putting a RPG on lavaland.

Not sure on the popup ruin bar adjacent ruins, seems sort of something people would make meta's around or hostile ghost roles would flip out and ransack the place.
