I have a rather tall challenge for the spriting community. Are you robust enough to take it? I need icons for my diagnostic HUD! I would like icons for the following:
For machines, I would prefer an orange electric theme. As always, I leave it up to the artist to decide.
- Depowered (orange lightning bolt, perhaps?)
- Broken (An X maybe?)
- Maint mode (A wrench icon, or cogwheel?)
- EMPed (be creative!)
- Busy (timer or clock icon)


For airlocks:
- Electrified (Exclamation point or something)
- Bolted (padlock)
- ID scan disabled (Red ID card?)
- Safety off (be creative!)
- has cut wires (detached wire?)

For Borgs:
- Health bar (might just reuse human one)
- Battery charge (vertical yellow bar on the right, perhaps?)
- Dead (unsure what icon)
- Unresponsive / Off (power button symbol)
- Disconnected (Sleep mode icon)

Maybe icons for mech states, not sure yet.

Just chiming in with a quick thought on that: For EMPed stuff (Not just machines, but airlocks and borgs) what about having random icons appear and dissappear for the duration of the effect?
I'd presume that after all, 'in character', it's operating based on the same wireless the borgs and AI use to control in order to do the diagnostics?

Need sprites for alien artifacts, unless we have some hidden somewhere already. (Don't want to copy from other codebases when there's a chance to give our spriters something to do.)

They are objects found in the asteroid's artifact rooms. They can be opened by various means, idea being you drag them to R&D to research them.

One is enough, but more is cool for variety. Don't need inhands since they are too heavy to carry. Open/closed, active/inactive states would be cool, but will be fine without aswell.

Don't have a preference for shape or color schemes, go wild. Black is probably the easiest to sell though.

This is not a high priority request since I don't know when I'll get around coding anything. Maybe some time next year unless another coder picks up the sprites before then.

those artifact sprites had cool designs, I think I can work with them.
I'll have to see them in game to see if they fit in with our current art style, but on their own they look nice.

If you want to do more of them, feel free. I can think of these having some effect on their own or teleporting/materialising items as rewards for people that figure them out.
One being more obviously a container or a vessel could be cool.

Sorted by importance

Better bigger autolathe
Biggest thing is for it to be able to be fed from a conveyor, or at least look like it is fed from one side, and spits out the finished product from the other. Would be completely ok with it being a modification of the current autolathe sprite.

Packaging machine

Idea here is to be able to both shove wood, cardboard or metal (don't know if we will implement this yet) to be able to package all the stuff coming off the conveyor on it's last stop before it is sent to the output and received by a cargo tech.

REST OF THE SHIT IS PRETTY OPTIONAL FOR THE UPDOOT BUT PRETTY EASY TO SPRITE (I THINK).

Human Hide/skin that you can wear.
This one is optional and is of lower priority, but would be damn cool to see cargo lizards running around in human hide chasing off greytiders.

More different skins/hides
We got all the animal pets, lizards and hopefully soon humans covered, as well as bears, but if we can get stuff for other animals it would be damn cool.

More plushies!
For all animal pets and such. Once again really low priority, but would be cool if we could implement that.

Dye bottle
Will be used as a requirment for some clothing. Potentially. Don't really need specific colors, but if you can do the basic pallet that's fine. I can edit/use whatever I need on the fly.

Hi. I'd like to request a blood red egg on a chain (similar to the behelit from Berserk but in no way shape or form an actual one because lolcopyright). If possible, I would like the on person sprite to swing, like the Chain of Command does.

I know the lawyer's locker spawns with neckties, just need it equippable on the head and an on-head sprite.

I think the rechargers could use a new sprite. I get how they work for cells, but being able to make an advanced egun disappear inside of this small box is just jarring.

Add an upgrade module that allows them to turn into a vehicle that has ID-locked entry like the HONK. Borg would control movement.

I need a sprite for the station safe with a drill drilling into it. I'm adding drill-into-safe functionality to mining drills.
In game, I play the A.I Firmware, the French cyborg C.U.R.I.E, Aubrie Allen, and the lizard scum Skulks-Through-Maintenance.

it would make more sense for doors to be drillable than the safe. the safe can be cracked already.

Yes, but until I get the hang of overlays, I'm not going to ask for sprites for a drill working on a door.

I changed it recently and readded it

It's in the code but not anywhere spawnable currently, try spawning white_suit
