Tiny Fans and airlocks.
I have decided I wanted to make it my mission to retrofit the maps with these sweet little doodads. I can not think of any reason each airlock to space shouldn't have them

Re: Tiny Fans and airlocks.
Tiny fans are ungood and should be limited to places where an atmos system is unavailable or cannot possibly fit (some ruins, Lavaland shelter pods).
Maintenance airlocks just leak air to space, it's nanotrasen, they don't care.
If you want to use official cycling airlocks I'm all for that, but they tend to be annoying to pipe, and annoying to play because they involve sitting and waiting rather than sprinting in/out.

Re: Tiny Fans and airlocks.
They're a bit too gamey.
They're useful and necessary in a lot of places but it's such a massive waste to have this advanced atmos system and then neuter it with magic

Re: Tiny Fans and airlocks.
these are already coded btw, you just have to map them correctly (start with something like viro airlocks and add a double-ended vent pump)cacogen wrote:make linked airlocks where one cant open until other close

Aren't brig doors also paired so that they can't both be open at the same time
Not that I disagree but then again you get atmos techs with portable air blocking hologramsStickymayhem wrote: They're useful and necessary in a lot of places but it's such a massive waste to have this advanced atmos system and then neuter it with magic

They don't bolt and that only activates if you bump into them, clicking on them bypasses itMickyan wrote:Aren't brig doors also paired so that they can't both be open at the same time

But they don't passively waste the potential of the atmos system the way the fans do, which sticky and I are talking aboutMickyan wrote:as far as being gamey and made of magic yes, they totally arePKPenguin321 wrote:totally the same as the round-start always-there hardcoded in pre-mapped tiny fans, yeah

Re: Tiny Fans and airlocks.
Truth be told, the real annoying part of the constant venting is when the shit placed near airlocks just yeets out into space or clutters up the floor. You'd think NT would have solved this issue somehow.

Re: Tiny Fans and airlocks.
That costs money though. Metal is cheap. If they need to they will just get a planet to farm metal slimes.
Also I know its kinda of a necro but isnt there a possible option of using the transit tubes as a in and out with the stations rather than airlocks?
