About 64*64 sprites
I heard something about someone who wanted the whole game to be resprited to fit into 64*64 pixels per tile.
Is this something everyone wants, or is it just a tg in-joke? If I theoretically redid the whole game to be 64*64 (with animations and advanced perspective because I wanna), would these sprites actually be used?
And is it possible for the game to use a mix of 32*32 and 64*64 sprites at the same time, in the case that not everything was finished at once?
Because I'll totally do it.
Give me an indeterminate amount of time and I'll totally do it.

There was that coder from /vg a couple weeks ago that had this to say about 64x64:
I'd say contact MSO, Oranges or some other maintainer directly before trying this. Also Maybe ask around the /vg forums if you could scavenge their sprites.We tried 64x64 sprites. They were reverted 2 days later. Not because of political reasons, but because BYOND shat itself. When I mean shat itself I mean fuck fuck fuck revert.

gah, it's oranges.
We have dabbled with 64x sprites as well and we hit similar issues. Unfortunately byond doesn't seem to play well with 64x64 sprites and ss13.

Oh well. I'll just stick to 32* then. Better human sprites incoming whenever.

Some of the issues were supposedly fixed in the 511 beta series, but I don't know all of the ones that cropped up so I can't comment if they're all accounted for. Also I'm somewhat skeptical if the problems are actually fixed or just given lip service.
I code for the code project and moderate the code sections of the forums.

So everything seems work on the old 64x64 branch of the code using the new 511 build
The larger icon files not opening in the editor doesn't seem to be an issue.www
Long as fuck compile times doesn't seem to be an issue (its longer, but not as bad, like 1.5x not the 100x we used to get)
And i can't get the graphical corruption issue in game to happen.
