Singularity and the Gravity generator

Post by Not-Dorsidarf » #318

This suggestion is somewhat minor, but it would be cool if the singularity treated the gravity gen like a weaker singularity beacon until it was destroyed, ensuring gravity goes down to something other than power in the event of containment failure. This is extra-useful due to the fact that now every antag ever has stopped exploding the grav gen at roundstart because 'new shiny thing!'. Singularity evacuations should be more OHSHITSHITSHIT rather than "aww, there goes engineering. I guess I'll finish up all my little projects and wander off to the shuttle in a while."

It also has the justification that the Gravity Generator makes gravity particles or fields or some other sci-fi bullshit, so it makes sense for a naked singularity to be attracted to it first, shoud you care about lore or whatever.

There is a lot of very bizarre nonsense being talked on this forum. I shall now remain silent and logoff until my points are vindicated.

I normally approve of anything that makes the Singularity's release more meaningful and deadly, but I'm honestly not sure about causing more gravity losses. It's truly a huge pain whenever it happens and in modes like Blob, Nuke, or Malf, the crew is essentially dead when that happens, especially Blob.

I guess so. Perhaps make it work like NarNars and pick a random person to follow if there are no beacons. Thereby crew trying to work out who it is and making them stick on a suit and dance around the singulo like a monkey to prevent the shuttle from being nommed?

Do you have any idea what a pain in the ass it'd be for admins to deal with that? Hell no, terrible idea.
Doubt it'd be too hard to weight the random movement towards the center of the z-level though, that'd mean it'd naturally drift stationward. If the weighting was minor enough it'd be predictably a threat but not a STRAIGHT LINE GOTTA GO RIGHT THERE SAME PATH EVERY TIME threat.

I'm more surprised that it isn't weighted towards the center of the Z-level, given that the singularity is in the station's gravity well (or vice versa, really)
