I personally like both to a degree, but the number of asshole clowns and asshole mimes is a little offset for me because clowns are typically loud about it. Also, as sec, the number of times I've seen a mime in a brig cell as opposed to the clown at shift start is pretty damn low.

That said, I also have a low level of excitement for most clowns because they're not actually interested in being funny.

For me at least, the number of clowns Ive run into that ask for something I politely decline to give them (H.O.N.K., Space Lube, Potency 100 bananas), that then escalate into breaking and entering, kidnapping, etc., etc., under the name of "cheeky revenge" or whatever, is pretty large compared to the number of mimes that can't won't take no for an answer comparatively. I've met maybe three individual helpful and/or genuinely likable clowns, and the rest have been varying degrees of shit.

Also, when the station is slow and no-one is playing along, most of the time mimes seem to take up another job as their gag, whether that's engineering (okay) or a sec role (terrible). Clowns just get more irritating, or dangerous, depending on where their fun little pranks take them.

Clowns are easier to negotiate with when they steal your shit.

For some reason it's the mime that ruins my shit as an antag.

He's the one that cheeses my turrets as an AI, the one that's always armed with a taser, the one that bodyguards the captain the entire round, the one wandering maint tunnels with stunprod and cablecuffs.

You're a mime. Do mime stuff, god damn it.

Legitimately the only time I remember smiling at a clown doing (honestly fairly shit) things was MCHonkDeezNuts wandering into the brig control room where I was maning the desk and checking cameras. He somehow manages to get all-access IDs every single shift. Instead of stealing things or making noise or whatever, he just throws a bedsheet on the floor and lays there with his head poking out. "Hey Warden, its a sleep over!"

I couldn't bring myself to throw him out.

Clowns have been a pain in my ass far more often than mimes have. But I still love them. Honk.

When mimes are jerks they're not even funny about it.

I 'main' Mime as a job, so I'm immediately biased in favour of mimes. I don't play as a butthole, I'm kind of the opposite, helping where it is and isn't needed - although I pretty much stick to one gimmick. I do find however, that generally mimes who aren't me are massive jerks, and so is reflected in most peoples immediate treatment of myself when I am playing mime.

The same can be said for clowns, a certain level of tolerance for grief when you are playing clown is expected. I'm not sure the same could be said for any other job on the station, apart from possibly the all assistants are greytiders assumption.

Mimes because they come with essentially 300 units of doctors delight (silencer drink), a perfect bottle for filling with welder fuel, a white crayon for infinite food, a shield which protects them from tasers (and people), and perhaps most useful of all is their inability to talk. Due to their inability to talk mimes can get away with so much more traitor shit than anyone else on the station. Oh and as a bonus you get to silence all the heads and the ai with your silencer virus.

Yes, it stops PDA's from beeping the same way the clown causes them to honk.

I have run into far more coolguy mimes than clowns, although i have found that clowns act far less shitty towards you if you honk when slipped, rather than getting analdevastated about it and trying to beat them up.

Clowns do seem to be very reactive. Walking up to the cluwne and spamming hugs on them as the HoS or Captain appears to go a long way with most of them, I dunno. Mimes just kinda act how they're going to act regardless. I guess it's like having a dog versus having a cat?

Good thing about clowns ? His shoes make him slow, thus easy to catch.
Good thing about mimes ? He won't scream for help.

Yes. I'm very evil.

I did both once as a traitor, we ended up with six clowns and no more than three mimes.

I open mime slots as HoP all the time on occasion. People are simply more likely to join as clown than as mime, even when there are equal slots of both open.

Hard to choose for me. I go with clowns namely because...well a RARE few actually do their job.

I've seen so few who actually.
- Tell a joke, knock knock, bar stories, or anything you would normally do to entertain a bunch of drunks
- do skits that don't involve people dying

Of course this is quite rare but I love the few who bother to do these things.
