A counterbalance to the whining thread.

As HoP, i'll always give out a funny job title, even if i don't up their access level.

As CE/Engie, I'll almost always retrieve something from maint after the assistant access decrease.

As Chef/Bartender, i'll always make a special order for someone, even if it's not what i'm currently serving.

As Botanist, i always give the clown bananas, some times the shit they do is hilarious.

As a miner, i'll always special deliver ores to specific locations in need of them.

As a Chemist, i'll always fill out the orders for the weird stuff, like drugs, but i won't do anything that could cause potential mass harm, like space lube or explosives.

When I'm a traitor and in a tight situation with another crewmember who is not my target, I'll often use my traitor gear to save them.

One time I was a traitorling in Science and got stuck with someone in the toxins launch area after bombs went off and Science got mostly destroyed. I gave them a traitor space suit and used that one ling ability that turns your skin into a space suit for myself so we could get out.

I try to help out new players by showing them around the station and telling them what various departments do if I have the time. Essentially just giving tours to tourists. You can always tell if it's a new player if they're slow to speak, and if they manage to reach out and ask for directions or help, I'll always try to oblige.

"Here we have the West side of the station, where all the shuttles dock. The arrivals shuttle where people arrive late, the white ship on occasion, centcomm shuttles when special stuff is happening, and the cargo shuttle where we order more supplies like food or metal."

"Up here's the North wing, where law and enforcement goes on. It's basically Security's headquarters and the prison cells. Try not to end up here."

"Over to the East we have all the general public stuff. You'll probably spend most of your time down here. We've got the bar and the kitchen, where you can get food and drink, the medbay, where you can go if you're injured, the library, where not much happens, the chapel, where you can listen to the chaplain, and escape, where the escape shuttle docks."

"Here's the exception to the general public rule, Science. Science is like a whole extra wing in itself. You've got robotics, where they can put your brain in a cyborg, research where they make a bunch of cool new stuff, xenobiology where they research alien lifeforms, toxins where they make bombs, all that fun stuff."

"Down in the south wing is where all the heavy maintenance happens. Engineering and atmospherics pump electricity and air into the station. They also tend to patch up anything like breaches to space or explosions, and in their spare time build additions to the station like forts."

"If you'll notice, the very center of the station is the Bridge. It's where all the command stuff happens. The Captain and Head of Personnel spend most of their time here. If you ever need a job change, or to get extra access on your ID, you need to ask the HoP. The HoP's line is generally the most interaction you have with the bridge wing."

Instead of denying 85% of all ID requests as Head of Personnel, I've gone down to a reasonable 55%.

This includes name changes, not just access changes.

As chemist, I'll get strange reagent roundstart with heated donk pockets and the chaplain's holy water, then dilute it with saline-glucose and revive corpses in medbay when doctors aren't around.

Haven't played Atmos in a while, but i'd usually go set up a connection port directly to the waste line for science and medbay so they can have their own personal scrubber dump. At least back when beakers of plasma were a regular thing for making dexalin plus and whatnot.

if I'm an a synthetic and subverted; I still try to help the crew as much as my new laws let me, even if I have a license to murderbone. So, even though I've been given a order override law I always do *exactly* what those orders say and try to get out of killing someone if the person who subbed me didn't specify.

As sec, I have a tendency to not arrest people for little petty bullshit which isn't hurting anyone. If an assistant has gear he isn't really supposed to but could have feasibly gotten it without B&E I usually let him keep it. Unless he's a shitter, then I'm bound by the law to be a doucheweed.

As a chemist I always try to load up botany with mutagen. It makes their job so much faster.

As a scientist I'll go out of my way to reach out to other departments and offer them the fruits of R&D. Hello chemistry, would you like some bluespace beakers? AI, inform your borgs that hyper cells are now available. Genetics, want your DNA scanners to be ten times better? The only thing I'm iffy about are bags of holding because the more bags you hand out the more likely you are to see a round-ending singulo. Even if you hand one to a legit person, they could easily have it stolen from them. I'll try to make exceptions for heads and for anyone who wants to go around upgrading with a RPED (since it fits in BoH)

See, I've tried this as QM/HOP and it just comes back to bite me in the ass so I'm at the stage where I refuse 90%~ of requests which aren't already okayed by other heads.

Actually on topic, I build public maxed out sleepers/cloners in medbay foyer and the brig so people don't have to rely on medbay in the inevitable event the round goes to shit.

I also stock up on emergency supplies, this includes doing things like stealing asking for the required access to pop stuff like space suit and weedkiller crates, then handing them out when the inevitable emergency hits.

Note to aspiring Cargonians: A pizza crate is more likely to be the subject of an emergency request than a space suit crate. It's also cheaper, last I checked, and there's more pizzas than suits in one crate.

When I'm in charge of R&D, I make a floral somatoray as soon as possible and bring it to Botany.
Also I'll loudly announce any improvement in power research to the cyborgs, so they can come get a bigger power cell.

In general I try to remember the little frustrations I've had during certain jobs, and then go out of my way to prevent those frustrations for other players when I'm in other jobs.

I often help any crewmember that either down, hurt, or bleeding.

As security, I don't bother the clown and don't care if they slip people, as long as they don't keep doing it to me or other security.

As a traitor, if there are any other threats, other than traitors, I'll use my gear to stop them.

On the rare times I play I usually go roboticist and try to do two main things. Make a couple tasers and syringe guns for R&D so they leave me alone and then if the research gets there, start making drones to help people get back into the round. Yes, I go out of my way to enable our beloved R&D autists.

I also leave the clown to his devices unless he is actively being harmful, and always try to save people who are down.

I've been known to give a Somatoray to Botany if R&D has fucked off and they're already pretty well set up. If they're growing anything but dank and doing damn good it'll just make their round that much better.

I think the last time I did it, it was because they had about 70% of the station covered in wood tiles. They got a nice reward for making the station more classy.

As a clown I always tend to buddy up with the mime and try to help him talk, especially if they're arrested since security is notorious for not uncuffing them to let 'em gesture or write properly. And for some reason people seem to always not understand what gestures are trying to say. So, I like to back them up and protect them the same way mimes will do the same with me since they can shoot and use weapons without hitting themselves. And that goes even for times I don't need to help them talk. I've found that being allies with the mime and forming a team is surprisingly effective. You seem to make up for the other's weaknesses.

As a traitor, I save people from other traitors, hunt down the traitor and revolver them to death, then mail their corpse to the victim in a bodybag with a "Happy birthday" label

As a HOP, people who ask for real, low-access, hard jobs, like MD or Botanist tend to get extra access. Sometimes they even get up to full.

Don't like to brag but since a lot of this goes unnoticed most of the time:

+ As a borg I'll watch the crew monitor like a hawk, if anyone with their suit sensors maxed goes into crit I will rush over there in an instant and try to help.
+ I'm willing to spend a lot of time searching through maint and space, even if it is carp infested, or even jump off the station, in order to find corpses and bring them back in hopes of revival.
+ As a borg I usually try to fullfill every request that I get and I offer prisoners very often to bring them things they want to entertain themselves so they aren't bored and go braindead in perma.
+ I'll often talk to security/warden/HoS/Captain about having mercy on prisoners to reduce their sentence or let someone in perma who isn't there for harm out.
+ Often as a borg (especially when Sec) when I witness some minor harm I kind of look the other way and yell a "DO NOT HARM!" instead of stunbatoning and arresting everyone.
+ I consider myself very very patient when it comes to cloning someone, and even if someone isn't cloneable I will try again later in case they somehow missed it.
+ As a geneticist I actually do check every scanned person in the cloner's database every 5 minutes. Many people don't realize that the cloner's database entries show the current vital signs even if no suit sensors are active. If I notice someone being heavily damaged I'll often check multiple times to see if their health gets worse and anticipate their death so I can instantly clone them.
+ In general as a Geneticist my priority is getting people back from the dead and onto their feet with full health instead of finding superpowers and slacking off.
+ As a borg when I clone and the shuttle is close I often speedclone and only heal people up enough so they can escape.
+ As an engieborg I often roll around checking on different departments to see if they need anything. I'll look at their APCs, fix any windows etc.
+ Even if I'm subverted as a borg I try to be nice to everyone as far as I can. I generally do not murderbone and whenever the AI starts to discuss this with the borgs I am against murderboning. I only start mass-killing under direct orders.
+ Whenever I find dangerous stuff I try to drag it to the armory or some other appropiate place.
+ As a traitor I do love to use bombs. However I actually very often send warnings over PDAs to people who don't have to die in them. Most often this warning goes to Genetics who I tell to run if they want to live. Though if there's no time/too many people I may not bother.
+ As a borg I'm always willing to join in on some crazy and silly fun or be dragged around.

+ I absolutely love teaching people, especially new players. I will give long and detailed tutorials and try to answer any question as much as I can. One of my best rounds ever was me giving a very detailed tour of the station to a completly new players. And I can't even count anymore for how many players I was their first borg or AI they've ever created. And it's especially awesome if you teach a new player something in one round and then in the next you see them do it on their own. Or if new players ask in post-round OOC to stick together next round so they can learn more.

- As a chemist I make a few bottles of cryoxadone, mannitol, and mutadone, and put them on the tables near cryo tubes so they can always add whatever is needed to the beakers
- As doctor/CMO I bring an air pump from the locker room and replace one of the oxygen tanks in cryo with it so we don't run out of air
- As Chef I make different meals, not just pizza and burgers. I make small snacks, desserts, main courses, and so on. And sometimes if I have food to spare I pack a few sandwiches/toasts/burgers, add ketchup or hot sauce sachets, sometimes also a slice of some cake, put it on a tray and bring to the brig for the security guys to eat while they're here so they don't have to walk to the kitchen. Often I am treated like a potential traitor.
- As traitor I do what I can to reduce body count, no need to ruin somebody's fun needlessly.
- When reviving I usually try two times, wait a minute or so, and try again. I've ghosted many times, alt+tabbed and did not get into my body back in time to be defib'd/cloned, so I know the pain.
- As an assistant (if I somehow get that job, which is rare), I ask people in different departments if they need me to bring them anything (botanists often need chemicals but don't want to leave their plants, for example)
- I love playing as librarian - sadly not many people even notice that guy or visit him. I usually fill the library with interesting/useful stuff and advertise it on the radio. When somebody comes I try recommending books or print something for them. The library scanner and computer are very robust and let you add books to the inventory, and check them out for a set amount of time. Very fun for the people who want to play along and don't just steal books straight from the shelves. Nice alternative to reading woody's got wood on the radio for the 5349543th time

As an assistant I like to grow the 50-potency wheat in the public garden and bring it to the chef.

Be competent when there is no competency to be found

My meta senses are pretty good and I can usually tell when a player just wants another player to play along or talk for a bit, and I'll play along for a bit

say 'ripip' to newcomers in deadchat and make them a bit less salty by chatting to them

Sometimes I also just help sec lie to the AI about someone accidentally falling over and dying, but this is pretty entertaining by itself anyway, especially when the AI pulls the 'yeah yeah sure buddy this is bullshit but I'll believe it' routine.

As an AI, my willingness to accept the old "accidental death in custody" routine is decided by the outrageousness of the claim. I'll usually call bullshit if it's just "He had a heart attack", but "Slipped on a mime peel a secret wizard teleported in and went sailing down the corridor into an airlock shocked by an invisible changeling's EMP and died" is too funny not to let slide.

There is one great outcome from this: I rised up the blood pressure of some of you shitheads and lowered your lifespan. I'm honestly tempted to do this more often just to see you screech and writhe more, but that wouldn't be cool of me. So come on haters, show me some more of your high blood pressure please. 🖕🖕🖕

As Sec, I always explain how to attach Seclites to helmets at shift start for my peers.

Also, I always risk my life to grab a downed or dead crewmember.

This is one of those things that would earn a commendation for good RP from half the playerbase and a 'what are you fucking stupid' from the other half.
