Returning Admins (Vote)

Scones, Sawrge, and Brotemis have all recently asked me to return as admins.

I would like to gather community feedback/opinions on why this would be a good/bad idea. If you want to say something negative but are afraid to do it publicly for some reason feel free to PM me your feedback on them. You can pick three options in the poll (which I guess you could abuse to vote both yes and no for the same admin, but why would you?)

didn't brotemis get banned for trying to ban another admin?
was there any problem with him beyond that? i always thought he was a pretty solid guy, but he got the boot right around when i first started taking an interest in the community so my opinion could be easily skewed

I'd be fine with scones if he could watch his temper when being an admin.

Brotemis would definitely be a no for me.

Sawrge would be a yes, he's like a wild stallion that can't be tamed and it's just amazing to watch him run around doing his own thing. Almost picturesque like.

I voted yes for Brotemis because I think our admin team in general can really use someone who isn't afraid to buck if they believe someone/thing is wrong. I voted yes for Scones because I thought they made a decent admin, even if they have a bit of an abrasive personality sometimes.

I voted yes on Swarge because anyone who HBL dislikes can't be all bad

Scones was a great admin so I voted yes for them. Never had any problems.
I've had bad experiences with Brotemis and he was pretty unprofessional so I voted no for him.
Didn't personally have bad experience with Sawrge but a lot of others claimed to. Voted neutral.

Not sure I got anything to say on any of them but brotemis honestly, I don't care if they stay skrubs or return, my only comment would be parroting what I said in the policy discussion about you returning without trialminning, I hate Uhangi and pap, but if they suddenly returned and became admins again I wouldn't expect them to trialmin, So don't trialmin people who have already went through those shenanigans and proved sufficient for the task (Which hasn't been discussed, just jumping in early with the fact that that's stupid)

Now for my comments on brotemis, I don't think adminning served him well, He got ugly mad defensive to criticism, and basically burned out to a husk of his former fun self to the point where he was jaded and snarky, to be fair, he was being poked a lot, but it turned into a self feeding problem, Peopled bitch about abrasiveness, he'd be abrasive, people'd bitch about abrasiveness, A death spiral, Since it's unrealistic to expect it not to happen again, I'd ask him to go back over his feedback threads and realize this pattern so it doesn't happen twice before he returns

I have actually asked to return as a trialmin. I finally got around to validating my forum account. I'll field questions here and on singulo.

My point of view is that if people's perception of me is to change, I would have to start over. Not particularly a big deal for me, there's been quite a few changes to the server since I was an admin and I was a bit taken back when I saw all the new stuff. I'll have to get acclimated to tgstation again and if that takes 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month, no problem. Speaking to the changes, ironically enough, I somehow ended up on tgstation last week when I tried to connect to vgstation and got a little confused when I saw sticky as head admin in the adminwho. Turns out theres some sort of panic bunker redirect. Talked to sticky a little bit and left, but all in all, I like what I see.

Brotemis was garbage and just because he has the confidence/ego to accept that they were an asshole because they thought they were right doesn't make him any good, keep the garbage out.

Honestly, if you've had a bad interaction with me in the past, I apologize. What I'm looking for here is a fresh start. I'm not burnt out (or a bitter husk of a man) any more. A lot of the work I did was actually behind the scenes and dealing with the database, I rarely played, and I was hardly on IRC back in the day, so yeah there was a disconnect between me and the playerbase. If anything else, I'm back to my fun loving self with a lot of optimism

Brotemis has written most of my notes in the past and it was things not even worth mentioning IIRC, that show's he actually watches and records what players do while stroking his dick and shiny banning axe. He's harsh but fair, needed to loosen his asshole up a little back then but then again that's just my opinion man. I don't know what he did to invoke glorious HBL's wrath but won't find out if he's gona act as proper as who says what unless he's off the leash.

Plus he's always so tsundere about things, spouting excuses like b-baka! It's not I muted OOC because you IC i-in OOC! It's to keep you out of trouble!~~

This actually worries me, I don't really like admins being heavily involved in the game/throwing out bans everywhere.

I don't even remember most of the people who say they've had bad experiences with me, but they seem to remember me. I don't harbor ill will toward anyone and my focus was always players fun. If anyone is going to break that cycle that fala is talking about, it's going to be me.

Before this is taken out of context and passed around as some sort of proof that I am 'edgy' or 'unprofessional' or whatever other buzzword you may wish to use, all I really meant by this is to point out how ridiculous it is to imply that in a full year of almost daily activity I did no actual administrating. I was as active as any other admin, and I was on the servers as much as I could be. The only reason I had so few bans given out was because I rarely found a reason to ban people and managed to resolve many situations without the need for too harsh punishment. Sorry I upset you guys if I shitposted too hard in the shitpost forums or disagreed with you about something

I vote no because I would rather they go through the proper process like any new admins.
No one should really get special treatment on coming back by getting everything they had before especially if they have weight attached to them.

If it had gotten to the point where Brotemis was stalking me, looking for reasons to mess with me, do you really think "but Code Blue" was persuasive to him? I also told him that I felt the insulated gloves were the best choice to match the blue/gold trimming of my armor. The problem is that he even bothered to BWOINK me in the first place over such trivial stuff.

I had to either involve a headmin or make a forum post, I don't recall, just to verify that casually backing up your DNA isn't bannable powergayman. Either way I got it resolved, but it's his attitude that concerns me.

One of the upsides of playing lately is I don't feel like I'm looking over my shoulder while I play anymore. I can simply ask "Is this against the rules?" when I'm considering doing something instead of "Could Brotemis use this as a pretense to ban me?"

Which, if any of these admins, would you like back?
