Playing security isn't shit anymore

Since I've started playing TG again I've really been pushing the envelope to see what I can get away with, to see if playing security is still awful.

I've given long sentences to non-antags for constantly being shit.
I've executed traitors with only the warden's permission.
I've fired a traitor out the mass driver (because shuttle was about to arrive and there was two other fucksticks in the holding area).
I've killed possible revs/cultists for no reason other than they're acting shifty and in the same area as actual cultist/revs and I didn't want to risk them stabbing us in the back.
I've demoted a HoP for being an all access giving cunt.

All without a single admin-pm.

Either admins have learned to not argue with me or we might've finally shaken off the shitty SoS oppression and entered a new golden age to wear the red.

Yet still no cunt plays sec at round start.

The rules on sec got lightened up a lot a few months ago. Now there's far less red tape between you and kicking the shit out of repeat greytiders.

Security is still shit, but it'll never NOT be shit.

It's substantially better now, and I occasionally play sec now, rather than when it used to be that I'd just suicide as soon as I got it.

Not my fault the game got so bad I had to play on some crazy ruski's rape sim to get some relief.
And even then I was still jumping onto TG occasionally, just playing by the old standards.

My grandad got a rescued dog that would shake in fear when you tried to pet it because it'd been abused in the past, even though it was in a much better situation now - same principle as that.

don't get too ahead of yourself

with power comes responsibility. Admins now sympathize with the shit that sec put up with at an all time high but actual shitsec will still be investigated and punished where necessary.

Another part of it is we dont get quite as many ahelps about it, but yeah i'm sure most people would agree they earned it.

I feel like a server that does security right is Archangel, that 40k server. You get some decently robust, cool looking armor, a bunch of gear, and a lasgun which is literally a laser with 150 ammo and you can have spare mags in your belt. You feel so so very powerful even though you're the weakest shit in the game and get murdered horribly by everything in existence and it never gets old. You suck and don't really know it until after you're dead and it's great.
On here you don't get any of that. You have a bunch of stun weaponry, armor that doesn't look very good, and you also don't have an excuse to fire a retarded amount of lasers at any problem you may face so you never ever feel powerful. You just suck and you know it.

They're powerful, but you don't feel powerful using them. Here you just smack somebody until they die, there you either knife them to death with bayonets or pump them with a shitton of lasgun shots. It feels a lot better shooting someone to death than slowly beating them to death while you turn the baton on and off to keep them floored.

If I kill a guy that I wasn't supposed to I have no problem taking him to cloning and cuffing him when he pops out the pod. Unless medbay is a hotbed of sedition and criminality which will get me killed (nearly always is)

If the situation allows that wrongfully killed person to be cloned then the situation probably wasn't actually bad enough for them to get killed in the first place.

Its extremely rare that sec manages to regain control of the station after the shit's hit the fan without creating a big pile of bodies

A while back I was playing warden I ended up downing some grey tiding chemist in the permabrig toilet while beating him to death. I got bwoinked for it but after I explained what happened the amin ruled it valid. Actually I think the chemist might have been banned
