This is a warning that any content you submit to the old wiki becomes owned by the wiki host. Any content submitted to the new wiki (http://tgstation13.org/wiki/) will remain in the public domain.


So it seems the host of the old wiki has decided to make him/herself the sole copyright owner of all content to the wiki.

Before they did this, all edits and content was public domain.

All old content made before the updated policy is still in the public domain, one can not easily retroactively copyright public domain works.

I'm going to open this topic up for all to comment on since they decided to prevent such commenting on their forum.

So to be clear, we currently can use any versions of the wiki pages prior to 16th April since right now they are still public domain? But this can change if copyright is then retroactively applied in the future?

Not quite. No matter what happens, public domained works remain in the public domain. There is nothing anyone can do to change this. So yes, everything up to April 16th is fine. Everything after that is off limits unless it's okay'd by Errorage. Or, of course, the original author independently authors the same edits to multiple places, but I'd rather not play with that particular fire.

FYI any links to the codebase/irc were replaced to their NT station counterparts prior to the version being grabbed here (because erro's not playing favorites or anything) so they'll have to be manually changed back to the proper links in this version of the wiki. This includes at least one link on the sidebar.

Erro has since changed his wiki's privacy policy back to public domain.

Also, do I send people to appeal bans here? You could probably change the link in code too, the one on bans, but that would be kinda pushing the split.

I believe SoS is planning to move administrative matters over here soon, but don't quote me on that.
