Telesci probably needs to be improved a good bit. Maybe it could have vector fields. Instead of picking a bunch of angles, you'd just pick a single direction, and a time offset. Your salvo would move according to an unknown direction field, and the path would map out on the console. There could be some analytical tools in case you wanna figure out how to pinpoint targets, but the display would make it easy enough to use intuitively.
In general, giving stuff a strong visual element means they can have math and normies can do it, too.

Have you looked at the code? So much math going on.

Math elements in game would be totally fine, as long as you don't need external tools (byond spreadsheet simulator anyone?)

i would honestly be for this, i loved how telescience incorporated math but i see how it could be abused in that once you get the equation once for key areas (armory, ai core, captain's office) it would quickly lose its "discovery" feel. if we could find a way to randomize it somehow then that would be awesome, but it will never happen because everyone on /tg/ are fucking chads

There will be an external tool for it within days, at which point anyone who uses the tool has a clear advantage over anyone who doesn't. At that point you might as well include the tool in the game and the math is gone.

To be robust is not about combat prowess, it is the state of readiness for the situation at hand.
