Hollow Knight: Metroid, but the people are bugs
It's got a great world, a fucking massive map, excellent lore and atmosphere, beautiful atmosphere, an awesome soundtrack, and a perfect difficulty curve (it's fucking hard at the end). Also it's getting free updates, including one that came out today. Also, it's arguably a better Metroidvania than Super Metroid. And it's only 15 bucks. Go buy it.

Re: Hollow Knight: Metroid, but the people are bugs
I love this game!
The gameplay is solid, I thought it was challenging without being frustrating ( except in a single optional area). There aren't a ton of movement upgrades, but they all feel really nice to use.
The game is super pretty. It's hand drawn and all the areas and characters felt unique, despite (almost) everything being in a cave.
There are a ton of optional upgrades, collectables, and bosses scattered about which makes exploring pretty fun/rewarding.
You'll definitely know within the refund time if this is something you'd like, so no harm in trying it. I'd reccomend a controller though. I liked it a lot better than using the keyboard (although the keyboard controls aren't bad or anything).
