Sid Meier's Civilization VI is for sale on Steam for 15$ rn, and if you're a smarty smart pants like some people you can only buy the base game and get all the DLCs to work in multiplayer.
Anyway being a big Civ 5 fan I played Civ 6 when it came out in 2016, and thought it was garbage. Bought it this sale and played with the boys and still thought it was garbage. Then played a bit more and now I understand everything and love it.
Buying the DLCs is pretty mandatory i'm afraid since Firaxis is a really shitty money-hungry dev. I bought the Platinum Edition on a keysite for 30$ USD which has all the content DLCs without the useless scenario packs and the dumb season pass. But again, you can just buy the 15$ base game and sprinkle magic on your install to make the DLCs work.
Multiplayer is the biggest reason to play Civ 6 honestly. All the game instability, save corruption and desyncs from Civ 5 are gone. It runs really smooth and has seamless desyncing and resyncing which I love. Even if the host suddenly quits, the game just passes it on to the next player which is great.
Anyway, it's a lot of fun, and I personally recommend it. Quick dump of "funny" screenshots.

I'd be interested to hear what people think about Mayors, government policies etc.
Also ALSO if you don't like how cartooney civ 6 looks, there's a texture pack made by one of the official devs that changes everything to how it looked in Civ 5.
