The Weebiest Faux MMO possible (SAO:FB)

Like Them's Fighting Herds, here's a game that looks like it would be fun to play but the property it's based on is such noxious cancer I dare not touch it.

If you can stomach Shirt Art Online and want to check out a game that looks reminiscent of playing Phantasy Star Online 2 as a ranger, let me know how it goes.

I'd rather just play PSO2 on my Gunner.

They made that shit so much fun. It's so puzzling, still, that it never got a proper translation.
Will they ever make a PSO3? Will that get translated?

on the arrival shuttle, I saw the iconic toolbox on the ground. I clubbed myself in the head with it trying to figure out the controls.
Setting the tool box, now bloodied, back on the table; I went to heal myself with a medkit. I clubbed myself in the head with that too.
I've come a long ways from asking how to switch hands.

The HoP just toolboxes someone to death out of nowhere, then gets speared by a chemist who saw him murder a guy, then the chemist gets beaten to death because someone else saw him kill the HoP.
Tele-man somehow dies and gets its looted by an atmos tech who managed to use it to send two nuke ops to lavaland, who were then surrounded by several very angry people from earlier and some extra golems on top of it.
Captain dies, gets cloned/revived, lasers the guy holding the disk into crit to take it back.
Some idiot tries to welderbomb the AI hiding out at mining for no discernible reason.
Two permabans and a dayban, i'm expecting a snarky appeal from one of them soon. What the fuck.

There was the SEA version that was sorta in English with its baffling localization choices. There's been rumors for about 30 years of SEGA finally localizing the whole thing. I can't see playing the localized version anyway after already putting so many hours into my English patched JP and associated collection of clothes/weapons.

They could do it like FFXIV, which differentiates between JP, NA and EU accounts and servers, but linked the data centers and unified the clients so any account from those regions can play on any server from those regions.

Unfortunately that would mean they need internal localization teams like Square-Enix has, because unifying the clients and servers means any new update would have to be immediately localized before it can be released.

They'd also have to rewrite large chunks of what is an ancient game engine.

There's just no fucking way at this point. People desperate enough to want it are getting translation patches and buying cash cards off Amazon Japan or some shit. Sega is already getting the money from the hardcore audience and investing more into trying to get more from them would be a dumb idea this late in the game.

Hence: PSO3 WHEN?

Several of the remaining ship4 /jp/ players have told me about their fake Japanese personas used to get around SEGA JP's strict population control measures after digg managed to get them to genocide most of Ship2 via exploit abuse for upboats but that was back in beta. Desperate times.
