There is a specific power armor backpack thing if i recall correctly. Also put shoulder straps on all your guns

Get a Power Armor Hauling Frame, that ups your carrying capacity by...100 or 120, I think.

On another note, holy FUCK are tank drones robust. Engaging me from beyond visual range, even on the test character I used I had no fucking chance.

I found one near the center of a massive city.

Stay away unless you're cloaking in or approaching in darkness. Or you have a sniper rifle. Those things are packing a whole armoury, and getting rocket-fragged from a distance is not fun.
At least they have the common courtesy of dropping a targetting laser on you first. "You hear Targetting" is your cue to GTFO.

Apply fire. It will not actually burn unless you stand down there in the fire, but it is the thought that counts. Webs are extremely flammable

Safe mode is enabled. When it is on you cannot move with enemies onscreen. it is usually on when the game starts up

Means Safe Mode is on.

The moment you spot a hostile the game pauses and you can either disengage Safe Mode or ignore that one enemy.
Useful for not running through the streets and noticing halfway through that a horde is currently gangbanging you.

You're lacking a power storage unit. Passive bionic, obviously stores the power inside your body.
Mk I adds 100 power per unit installed (you can get multiple), enough for one deployment of the nanoblade. Mk II adds 250.

Also, you're obviously turning into a furry.

It's kind of a pain in the ass (and not well advertised at all), but you need a power storage unit in addition to a power source and your to-be-powered bionics. Try butchering a few shocker zombies.

By the way, I strongly recommend getting the torsion ratchet and solar panel CBMs, they effectively mean free power so long as you move/are in sunlight.

Ethanol Burner only if you have Blood Filter. Metabolic Interchange only if you have loads of food.

Also, here's a suggestion.

Mod a shotgun with a mounted aux flamethrower.
Mod a crossbow with a rail-mounted crossbow.

Or be reasonable and slap the crossbow on the shotgun, the underslung grenade launcher on the crossbow, the underslung shotgun on the battle rifle and the flamethrower on the sniper, for OH SHIT panic buttons in any situation.

Random bit of advice (it should seem obvious, but desperation sometimes makes people do crazy things): NEVER USE SPRAYCAN FLAMETHROWERS INDOORS. If the fire and smoke don't kill you, parts of burning buildings can actually collapse and crush you.

Explosives are not-so-glorious sometimes.

Unlike power armour.
Light power armour is glorious as it lets you move fast as fuck.

If you are having trouble finding a vehicle that works i strongly reccomend building your own motorbike from scratch, as it is very easy to do. You need a wrench, jack, screwdriver, hacksaw, and about level 4ish mechanics. Find a car that is not a complete wreck in a safeish location and start taking it apart. Make sure you have removed at least 3/4 steel frames, then access the construction menu with * and start vehicle construction to place a single frame. place your 4 frames in a straight line. Add an engine, alternator, and fuel tank, place a seat and some controls and find a car battery that still has some charge to stick on there. I would also strongly recommend putting a trunk or some other storage area on the backmost tile. Add a wheel to each and and boom, you have a working vehicle. Your derelict car should have most of the pieces you need, and you can scavenge the others from other wrecks. The hardest piece to find is usually a battery with a tiny bit of charge left, but once you get the vehicle started for the first time the alternator will charge it. I would also recommend putting armor plating on each segment, you can usually find a wrecked military APC or truck to get some nice composite armor.

I've kind of completely learned how to "beat" this game, or rather just how to never die.

Basically: You get parkour expert and either fleet footed or quick and abuse bushes and cars like nuts. A broken down wreck of a car is a godsend, as enemies advance so incredibly slowly on that that you can easily kill kite them, hit them without EVER having them hit you. If things get messy you can always just swerve around cars, run on stretches of fences, and eventually leave the city and get into a forest (which are disgustingly good for losing enemies with).

My most powerful character I've ever gotten was totally bulletproof, could make anything he hit explode (armored or not), and could kill swarms of thousands literally in a couple of turns (based chain lightning). He drove around in a huge super armored APC and had mutated himself fully with alpha mutagen so he's a god even without all his armor and weapons.

He could literally sit in a fire all damn day and not care.

Because you learn rather quickly that "rapid healing" is absolutely worthless in a fight. Instead I rely on absurd dodging skills, ridiculous bullet-proof indestructible armor, and nanobot healing bionics (my guy had some 40-50 bionics installed, at least).

Nanite healing heals 4-5 points of each limb per use in that one turn, you can spam this to stitch yourself back together almost instantly.

EDIT: Also seriously? Why go for pain resist and SLOW "rapid healing" when you could get 15 in every stat and be basically human 2.0?

Poison resistance, disease resistance, infection immunity, parasite immunity, barely any need to sleep. Ability to heal by walking around, coupled with using the bionic for emergency boosts, because it drains quite a bit of power.
Sounds more fun to me.

Of course it cannot possibly beat going full octopus.

I did some fiddling in the config and debug and made my character a god. 700 in all stats, fully kitted out in the best equipment in the game, every single possible positive mutation and skill and spent a little while running around punching things into mist. Then I got bored and found out that firing a rocket launcher point blank into 5000 Thriller zombies can kill even a god, blew my limbs to shit and bled out the last few hundred hp on head and torso within 2 rounds. That was a fun day. I plan on staging a fight between 100 Shia Lebeoufs and 100 Allosaurus in the next day or two.

Literally all curable by royal jelly. Alpha also barely needs any sleep, I'm telling you it's really damn good. Needing to eat slightly more often is a non-issue by then as food quite literally comes to you all damn day, and the forests ARE food.

I once got robbed by the biggest faggot. not sure if it was a devjoke or soemthing, but this guy had a linux shirt, trenchcoat, fingerless gloves, a fedora, and was wielding a katana. Tried to rob me, i threw a spear into his chest, and a fight ensued. I have never come so close to death and still survived. The katana was nice loot, but i died to a zombie hulk an hour or so later

I had a dumbfuck mug me a couple days ago. He had a Remington, so I had to let him get close in order to stand a chance. Lost my makeshift knife in his chest while he was taking my stuff, and lost my last bullet (he stole the rest) trying to cap his ass as he ran off. I followed him and stood back and watched as his ass got swarmed by zombies and ripped apart. Planned to go back for my stuff, but got et elsewhere.

All over the place, but they are disable by default due to being pretty buggy. If you have not seen any you have probably not enabled them
