I just played Alterac Valley. Single match could last 3 hours of pulling and pushing. Shit was so cash.

I remember when negative resistances was a thing and I played warlock
16k damage crit shadowbolts were amusing. Instantly killed everything except the tankyest of warriors at the time

That amused me a lot at the time
Also 3 hour+ queues for that same valley

I miss AV from when it was good.

You could log in after going to sleep and it'd still be the same match that you fell asleep playing.

They REALLY dumbed it down to the point it's not even recognizable anymore. Nobody does anything on the map besides immediately zerg rush the other team's leader to win as fast as possible.

That's kind of a given in every game
I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV and I've been to dungeons where the rest of the group went ahead and finished the entire thing while I was in the cutscenes with the boss introducing himself. The dungeon almost timed out before the cutscenes finished

Yeah, this is exactly what happens in wow right now, in all dungeons (before like latest expansion I guess). It doesn't bother me, since I've seen them all and just want to level. But if I was a new player it'd be really lame. New player experience is really shit right now.

In FFXIV, the cutscene goes on until you personally cancel it or it ends
I've had it happen that I watched 3 cutscenes without getting to do anything because the group advanced the dungeon to the next cutscene before I finished the last one

yes, the building editor is where i eventually gave up and quit
along with parts of the vehicle editor, it's so hard to build a good mech in this game especially because there's a pair of mech legs that look like they ought to attach to the goddamn underside but you can't do that and you can't translate individual limbs and aaaaa
also because it didn't really matter what you put on your vehicles, at least the military ones, because all the attacks looked more or less the same

I think i played one or two galactic adventures that were okay. I was but a younge childe when i was actively playing spore, so I made tons of massive land battles starring my main galactic empire which was really fun to do. By the time I hit late endgame space stage I had created several incredibly powerful allied empires right near the grox by helping them conquer lots of land and had built a safe bridge of fortress planets from my territory to the galactic center.

I never did find sol though, what happens when you get there?

Nothing too exciting, you get progress towards a badge for finding easter egg type systems the devs put in.

You also get an achievement if you blow up the earth with a planet destroying weapon.

Then I was remembering that I never looked at the vehicles I made, not because they looked uglier than an orc up close but because at no point did I need to zoom it.

Don't even say this, I powergamed spore so hard. For example when going into tribal stage you can stack the spitter things and decimate all the tribes early from range. It's pretty great! I really liked going the middle path during the cell, creature and maybe tribal stage as they had some neat bonuses but after that it really doesn't seem that worth it. A good example is that, in the space stage, if you go warlike you can usually use great weapons to beat people and if you're peaceful you can terraform planets and make people love you, that's fantastic. The middle path seems like it doesn't do much though, I never really understood it. You sell things, I guess? Doesn't seem that amazing but last time I played spore was eons ago.

People hate and complain about spore because of how it was brought to us, with marketing and hype for all sorts of things
A great all-ages and evolution spanning game that would see your own race do their own thing, with every playthrough unique

Instead we got googly eyes on amoebas, over half the expected features cut and a binary "good pacifist" route or "evil conquerers" route that has no replayability and barely any gameplay
