What is your favorite ss13 moment you've had on tg? What would you do, if anything to cause other players to have similarly memorable moments?

My favourite moment I think was when I sent a vice-admiral on the day before her retirement to the station to inspect. She got killed and MMI'd and there was some fun roleplay between the MMI and myself

I had suicided to take tickets during a round at which point Pepper had taken my body to Genetics and mass-produced Charley Quinn injectors. They then began to fuck around and tide which pissed off sec enough to kill them.

I was mortified by the evil acts of Paris Konets, and as such I sent down a team of Charley clones to rescue the rest.

Chaos ensued.

It was very stupid.

I told Sight I had a song request and they said if it was the Old Drug Dealer song I would be smited for it. I proceeded to get smited for requesting the Old Drug Dealer song and was turned into a puzzle in front of the bridge along with a CentCom announcement that said I had pissed off CentCom, which lead to a lot of the crew working together to solve the Marianne puzzle. Only for me to be gibbed as soon as it was solved. It was overall a really funny experience and I'd love to have moments like that with people.

What is your favorite ss13 moment you've had on tg? What would you do, if anything to cause other players to have similarly memorable moments?

It was one of my first forays into Command after unlocking Head of Personnel. I recall playing lawyer for a week to get the hours. It was a lower population night on Sybil and someone decided to airtank themself at the HoP line I was manning as acting captain. Not a big deal. Then someone else saw the airtank pile and decided they'd do it too. One thing leads to another and suddenly there's a pile of like 8 dude's internal organs and clothing. I make announcements about people not killing themselves with an earnestly desperate tone. Admins took over and suddenly there were waves of suicidal greyshirts, psychologists, dead lizards with suicide adjacent names (dies-on-arrival, dies-when-greeted), and wicked curses bestowed upon everyone I interacted with. Top tier interaction that whole shift.

The mime gets me onto the bridge alone. It's a tense moment. I unload upon them all the things that have happened to me this shift, woe is me, yadda yadda when...

Then admins played this after they suicided.

In the end, I got burned to death and the chaplain that was performing the ritual sacrifice on me went SSD. I got revived, my doctor instantly killed themself in front of me, and as I tried to escape medbay I touched a trapped holoparasite door, exploded, and died again.

The last doctor wordlessly morgued my body and that was the end of events on Lizard Hut Tango.

Probably the round where I found a wizard token in the bathrooms and then I got teleported to the wizard's den and asked to become a changeling and then when I realized I got stuck on the ship i played galactic dice against the wizard and won and they fucking died and I became a wizard changeling and came to the station as a God bringing them artifacts.
I miss sticky sometimes.

During a tram round, I had a botanist come in to med with adrenals crisis, a disease you get from trying to purge Kronkaine that requires brute trauma or Determination to cure (i still don't know which).

Naturally, medical took turns strapping him to a chair and shattering his knee caps and completely annihilating his legs which... did nothing. I had the genius idea to take the amputation shears and cleave his legs off, because that gives a TON of Determination (it didn't work).

After I finished severing his legs from his body, he simply stood up. With no legs. Some two guys outside were spam throwing a moth plushie at each other, making a fuck ton of noise, as a talking goat and chicken came in to give the botanist therapy to cope with the fact that he now relies on pure willpower to stand, and not on his own two legs.

These always feel so contextual, just moments that stuck in my head and amused my sense of humour, some of that translates better than others.

My classic go to from previous elections was the station being a raging plasma fire (old school literally everywhere outside maints on fire), and finding my way to holodeck where a monkey taught me how to save someone's life doing holographic surgery on someone before we all hopped on an escape pod and went home (i'd never played medical before at that point). I'm very fond of this story as I think it nicely wraps up some of the absurd emergent situations you can end up in, in a way that even a non player could sorta understand and go 'wtf?' at too.

But to add something new to this entry from every year so far.

The other night we were testing something about decapitation in TD and I'd spawned a bunch of monkeys in to attack with an energy axe. I knew they'd kill me because monkeys are funny, I butchered a few, one grabbed my energy axe and that was that (that thing does 150 damage on a chest hit, aiming at any limb undersells it), and then the next thing I knew my ghost shot out of my exploding body. Some other monkey had found a random instagib rifle some other admin had spawned and, well, that was that. I laughed for about a minute straight. It's not a very funny story if you weren't there and it didn't tickle you at the time, tis another funny 'unexpected results' thing though. That monkey was a champ and I think it's the one that went on to survive a "reset thunderdome including deleting mobs" somehow.

I also have an etched memory of turning a captain into a cleanbot one low pop shift (i dont remember why) and some passer by hollering out that the captain was "a fucking roomba" or something.

So many memories. Making stupid overcomplex emitter arrays using dozens of mirrors. Being a nukie that got got by an alien sliding through a parcel delivery chute before I blew myself up in front of the queen.


I think the common thread is the unexpected nature and the beauty of emergent behaviour which this game does so well at sometimes, and sure, it's not all like that but when it hits the mark it does it in a way that's so rare amongst gamings typically well limited thus mapped out mechanics. Unexpected things themselves can just be awesome, hence the instagib monkey I guess.




A lot of the above I guess is just 'well balanced chaos', perhaps part of why I still really like the LRP setup. Admin DMing is also super cool for just changing things up and adding oddities and absurdities, while Captain Roomba is a very tiny slice of that and I'm perhaps not the most creative events admin, if I'm ever working along side an admin who wants to run some kinda event I'd like to think I help by picking up any non-event related tickets to give them a bit more time and freedom to do their magic, certainly trying to run any event AND handle all the tickets can get crazy some rounds. Ideally by having a couple of admins working together in rounds they can each specialise as they desire towards events or administration, or all do a balance of bits of both. I'm not sure there's anything that useful to do from the headmin top down position, just encourage those who want to be creative to do so and admins to work together to DM + Moderate.

the cap was a little stupid "PowerGamer"- he instantly rushed for armory and as you can see in the video he had a shotgun AND a marakov on hand. as the mime i instantly sus'd him out to be an extraordinary target. so, i farmed an arcade cabinet, and got a fake sword, the obviously looking fake syndicate suit, and just chased him with it out of the blue. he was not very amused as you could tell in the video.

bonus: i hid in a locker near the bridge in the same round with an xeno toy and made him think there was xenos for like 20 minutes. i was fucking laughing my ass off.

I fucking miss sticky’s events so much holy shit they were so much fun. i remember one time sticky made a cursed vendor that would monkey paw your wish. it was mindblowing to watch as i had just became a candymin. i never EVER saw an admin use so much power in an event. god. COME BAAAACK STIIIICKYYYY
